View Full Version : I hate my generation

No...seriously...90% of the people making up people roughly my age are a bunch of cock-juggling thundercunts. So many of us (or them...whatever) have passive roles in their own lives. Rather than take action to effect change, whether it be social, political, etc., they sit around with thumbs firmly up their asses just assuming shit will turn out the way they wanted it to. Luckily, I don't have thumbs. Tom Brokaw pissed me off when he wrote his book "The Greatest Generation"...a generation he happened to be part of. What a pompous ass. But as I look back on my parent's generation and the ones before it's hard not to be ashamed. I get the feeling that so many of us have a feeling of entitlement. Wrong. The world affairs of today disgust me...so I can only imagine what a bunch of apathetic morons will do if given the chance. The end of the world in T minus 40 years. It's not just me, is it?

Yes, there are a lot of people that are passive in society, and yes, it is sad. What is the point of this thread? Are you just bitching about it (surprise, you bitching about something), or do you actually have anything constructive to say? Don't worry about other people and what they are or are not doing, just worry about your own life and you'll be ok... you can only control yourself, not others.

i would have to agree with steve, I mean i heard so many people bitching about our president...this or that..but when time came to vote....half of them IF THAT actually got out there and turned in a ballot. just an example of what steve is speaking about.

Wren...I'm not sure you ever get the point of anything I have to say. I suppose venting (or "bitching", if you prefer) is a part of it. Another part of it is a search for an answer or a reason. I'd like to know why people think that we act this way. That said, just as I'm not suprised that you didn't get the point, I don't expect you to care what anyone else has to say, either.

I completely agree with you Steve that people are very passive in their lives today... there is no disagreement there; I have seen that in society for a long, long time, but I realize that I can't make other people take active roles in their own lives, so I keep my mouth shut about it. I see the irony in this situation; you are bitching (but not doing anything about) about people that bitch but don't take any action... how does this obvious irony escape you? As I said before, don't worry about other people and how they run their lives. And you think I don't care, but hell, I care enough to respond to this thread twice now...

I completely agree steve. You get people who complain and bitch... like Darin said about presidents and sutff.. yet they dont even register to vote. People complain about us loosing so many soldiers in iraq yet this war we have acomplished more than any past war. The world today disgusts me... The image people have of what beauty is or what normal is.. and those who dont fit the mold are outkasts... I think people need a real wake up call...

I dont know if I'd go as far as to say ANY past war...IMO the Revolutionary war and WWII were our biggest accomplishments..i mean we basically drug every other allied nation out of the dirt covered shit pile they were in and well the revolutionary war kinda speaks for itself on this. haha

You know what I mean... MOST wars in the past... but in all honesty... I am just seriously sick of how people view other people these days... The way people just kill other people and have no remorse for it... I just dont understand it..

And how exactly should I force people to take charge? This is a philosophical thought, not a concrete one. The irony escapes me because it isn't there. All I can do is recognize these inadequacies and ask questions. I can't pick someone up off of the couch and force them to vote or get involved or do something...anything. I remember my Comp II class a few years ago. My teacher had service learning as part of the curriculum. Each of us were to volunteer at a certain amount of projects to round out the class. Sure, you could just not go, but you wouldn't get an A. You wouldn't believe the number of people who bitched and moaned about doing a few hours of volunteer work. But why? I've often volunteered with no better reason than it's just something to do that happens to benefit someone else. If you don't ask questions you'll never have any answers. It's not worrying about how someone else runs their own life...it's about how eventually their inability to run their lives will someday effect you.

And Ren...I'm glad you agree...but you and I obviously have a vastly different viewpoint of what this "war" is accomplishing and whether or not a sacrificed life is worth it. Then again...that's a different matter altogether.

Well.. This whole "war" thing should have been over long ago.. I have lost myself 4 very good friends to this "war"... But Im saying at the begining when we were there for a purpose. As far as this society goes.. I would like to see more people take action and less people sitting around doing nothing about it. If people do not act on their inhebitions(sp)... they can affect not only themselves but other people as well... For example... Take the game jinga for instance... if you pull out the wrong piece.. the whole tower can tumble... so your decision must be precise.. Some of our decisions can be the exact same way... If you do not act.. or act immaturly.. you can crumble the entire tower..

Do you realize that over half of the population who bitches and moans about our president..don't have a direct, well thought out reason to? I've asked so many people why they think "Bush Sucks," and all I get are "because he does" "he caused the war." seriously, I can't stand people trying to stand up for something when knowing nothing..and knowing nothing so they try to conform.

And I've met so many bush supporters who can't come up with a reason they like him, so yeah, people are idiots. :o

Sometimes stereotyping isn't altogether too far from the truth. Don't like it? Prove me wrong.

As for myself...you're right. I'm a walking talking stereotype of today's modern angry armless socially conscious male. Man...it's so awesome being me.

Or you're just a bleeding heart who is pissed at the world . you know you would love the system if the system were run by bleeding hearts, and not affluent white christians such as myself. You are just pissed that people like me have power and people like you want it, but don't/can't do anything to get it, so you bitch about things...

Annnnnnd that crosses the line. So in response...

I'm pissed because fucks like you are the same bastards that feel a sense of entitlement. Little rich white brats who haven't worked for much, if anything, that they have. While I'm not a "bleeding heart" as you seem to think, I'd rather be that than some pompous little cum stain with a trust fund and a brand new car that I didn't pay for that blindly supports anything the president wants because we go to the same church. Look...if the best you've got is a dig at my lack of upper appendages, just shut the fuck up. In fact...just shut the fuck up anyway. People like you will hopefully never run anything because you're a coward if this post is any sign of your character. When all else fails, go for the low blow. Way to go, you're living the dream you fuck. Did you see a void left when biker left and think "hey...what this board needs is another starhole punching butt pirate"? Seriously man...if you disagree with me, that's cool. But you whine about how I claim to always be right then turn around and do the same thing. And not even as well. If you've got a problem with my arms...take it up with my parents or physician. Otherwise, suck my cock you arrogant crotch gobblin.
