Here we go again. My abs engages too quickly for some reason. When I had my stock rotors, if I press the brake too hard it'll lock up. Now that I have my aem big rotors, if I press it hard it'll lock up.
Does anyone have any suggestions to this thread?
I would like for it to go away so I can brake hard all the time.

if the wheels are locking up then abs is not working.

^^ This is true....your abs is gone. Some how you made it go away. When the abs activates it pumps your breaks and you will hear like a crunching sound and still be able to steer. This isnt your case because you lock up the tires correct?

i think you guys are misunderstanding him. I think he means that his abs engages too much. I assume he's trying to say that under relitavely normal braking that his abs is engaging when it shouldn't be. Hence it's being oversensitive.

I dont even understand what youre asking. You're saying it locks up regardless - which will not happen w/ abs. If you are locking them, your abs light would be on too.
Care to rephrase, please?

I think it is my rims. Its only 16" which is ok but tight space for the rotor/caliper. The brakes make a sound and it doesnt slow down. This is when I press it really hard like flooring a car hard. normally I never use it like that because the brakes dont need to pressed that hard, thats how good it is.
I dont know why its doing this, but if my abs did go, how would I be able to repair it.

No...its not the wheels. I'll bet you that my clearence is even tighter w/ my integra calipers and 14" wheels.
What do your pads look like?? Youre still making like zero sense to me...you keep contradicting yourself.
Your abs is fine

if I press hard enough, it will make my wheels move. someone told me that his civic with abs did that too and told me that he needed balancing so the wheels dont hit the brakes. Thats what it seems like when I press it hard enough/

So when you stand on the pedal...the wheels move. wtf does that mean? Move how? Spin/rotate? Unless youre clear, no one can help you.

ok read carefully. When I press the brakes hard enough, the front wheels will shake as if something is stuck. I dont know if its really shaking or if its just the brakes, but it feels as if my brakes are shaking.
need more?

u feel a shaking in your steering wheel is what your saying?? when u apply the brake fully?..thats usually warped rotors...or need new pads...even if ur abs was engaging..u shouldnt feel a shake in the wheel...just hear a motor type noise and you would have control of the steering...so i guess your abs is fine? anyone else get what hes saying now?

Abs is supposed to feel like a moderate pulsing sensation.
I guess it could be wheels that are out of balance, but since wheels dont just go out of balance on their own (unless a weight flies off) its more than likely its those giant rotors that aren't balanced correctly. That's if anything is wrong...but I bet its just the abs doing what its supposed to.

how does "lock up" mean anything close to "shaking"?
