just got a block delivered and i found some scratches on the piston walls, there not to deep, but enough to feel with you finger. what do you recommend i do?

its a D15 non vtec civic block. if your wondering me and a friend of mine want to build a d15B Vtec block. using the head of a D16y8.

but the block came with low miles but with scratches. so i dont know what could of cuase that.

i suggest trying to rehone that bitch. see what local shops say about it

The safest way is to get it rehoned but how far do you want to build this motor? New pistons? If u plan to get new pistons of an aftermarket version, then just wait. Have a shop look at the walls. That may determine what size piston diameter you may need.....

not fully build. we want to make it pretty much like a stock D15b. ill see what the shops have to say. right now were fixing the d16y8 head. we took it off a car that was boosting unsafely. bent the valves. we got the head for 55$s.
