Well, I guess it's hard to speak, seeing how I am [and proudly] cockless, but I figured it would be something where he would feel near instantly. I wonder what would happen if she just like, cocked him to the side and took a butcher knife..and..yah.

Well...a good part of feeling pain is realization. Everyone has had one has had one of those moments where they cut themselves or something, didn't realize it, and it only begins to hurt after your see it. I imagine having your wang cut off in your sleep is pretty similar.
