No underlying meaning intended, I just find it fascinating how humanity has such a desire to rally around one person to give them meaning/hope.

Well...in all seriousness...a Hitler-Bush comparison is not far off. Hitler gave his people misleading information and false hopes then ended up screwing them in the end. With Bush, we're already half way there. Mission accomplished!

Sad? Why? Because I don't agree with you? It doesn't take a degree in history to see how someone like myself could think we're certainly on the wrong path and Bush is leading the way. Not everyone shares your views, Wren. Besides, you're the one who drew the contrast between Bush and Hitler...I merely pointed out similarities that are simply my opinions. You wanna talk sad? How about your inability to accept that I don't think the same way as you? Some of us down here in the middle class aren't at all happy with the way things are going. Deal with it. And I'm not joking.

I wasn't drawing comparison between Hitler and Bush, and if you can't see that you are blind. Notice the picture of Kerry/Edwards at the bottom? I was pointing out how people put all their hopes/dreams into one person and how they rely on one leader so much. To compare Hitler to either Bush or Kerry is ridiculous. Having different views is cool, but at least put some thought into them. Please please please don't tell me you honestly believe Bush is anything like Hitler...

Well ideologically no. I don't see a massive genocide in Amerika any time soon. But on paper...maybe. Hitler started wars left and right...invading countries as he saw fit. Some might draw a parallel between our actions now and his then in that respect. Hitler also kept those who supported him close and well kept. Everyone who questioned him got killed. Bush is a lot like this in some regards and though he's certainly not having people killed (that I know of), they do get left out in the cold when it comes time for the little perks in life. Although Hitler did rebuild Germany to it's pre-WWI status in just under 2 years...Bush can't say as much. If things keep going the way they are and our policies are not changed, Bush won't be the NEXT Hitler, but he could be OUR Hitler. We'll stand a good chance of being inconceivably screwed by a leader who gave many false hope. Maybe Kerry's not much better...but once bitten, twice shy.
