i got a b16 and now the 3rd gear crunches when i select it when the RPM is past 5000. every one keeps telling me that the b16 tranny syncros is soft and i should get a GSR tranny, but they usually go for about 700 and i can get the b16 tranny fix for 175 labor and i buy the parts. what i wanna know is can the GSR syncros fit on the b16 second and third gear, or is there syncros for the b16 that can take aggressive shifts.

Its all honda trannies that have that little issue. b16's just tend to get more about it becuase people rev the snot out of them.

If you get new synchros again you'll be fine. Treat it nice.

For now, you can use some GM synchromesh fluid as a bandaid.

well I ordered the Carbon Coated Synchros
and they will install them in like two weeks. have any one ever welded their differentials before so both wells spin at the same time all the time, is this bad in any way cause i will be getting that done also. Any advise.

uhhh, you dont want to do that on a street car, in a turn you want the wheels to have the ability to spin at different speeds.
