well the CRX left today. She was taken to Hybrid Dynamics to have the engine put in. I am a good mechanic but i rather have it done by a pro. They start the swap Friday. So today i had to drive and hour and a half to her it there. I cant wait for it to come back. All i have now is an empty garage. It sucks i really dont want anything to go wrong with that engine i bought i will be so mad. My funds are running out and i still have to put together a turbo set-up which is a lot. I hope things go as planned.:paranoid:

I'm starting to consider having a pro do my swap. I always said I wanted to do it all myself, but having neither the time nor the experience, in the garage it sits.

I do some of the stuff 100% on my own, but when I do the swap, my boyfriend has to help me because Lyna+Wires=Burnt.

BTW: Note to Swappers: never leave all of your bolts in a huge bucket and have a dog nearby. :no: My pitbull knocked it over and I ended up losing like 12 bolts.

is that just drop-in installation, or are they doing any engine work before the swap?


I'd love to do it myself, but its almost to the point of I'm going to have to sell it if it sits much longer, and I'd hate to do that. I would rather still own it and drive it even if someone else did most of the work, than have to sell it and never see it again (or see it bastardized)l

hhmm not sure what woudl be so difiuclt about a swap... gosh when we got our rex ( me and gf ) it was a mess.... it started for a lil bit ran like shit... and then died, she tow'd it to her mothers and it sat... and disapeared, gota love idaho :D rex was COMPLETELY covered. but yeah
the only problem i know i would have is the half shafts... ehm what was that with the pickle fork and i think a sledge hammer ? ... :D
errr on not so difficult im talkin like... zc into crx... or something... NOT a b20 vtech into a crx :D i dont like smashing engine bay so my alternator will fit

well for me its not so much the challenge of doing not, but rather having the time to devote TO doing it. Not knowing exactly what I'm doing will take more time, and its already sat for far too long.

I'm going to work some numbers later on and decide what I'm gonna do. option1: sell all and buy new car that i like, make payments. option2: get civic running with new engine, and everythingback to stock specs.

I'm going to have to weigh cost effectiveness versus practicality versus wants/needs. A fun list.
