well... something in my motor desided not to work anymore. it sounds like i have no oil in, but i do. im going to have it towed to my friends house and yank the motor and pull it apart. if its got a major problem im going to just buy a new motor and not even bother trying to fix my already ageing engine. im glad im broke, this is going to make doing this so much easier  the only good thing is when i herd it i was still in my parking lot, and the engine has been on about a total of 10 seconds. ive already pulled the valve cover, theres oil in the head and everything seems to be in place with no scratches on anything vital.

i'd describe it as something between grinding and a scratching sound.

this might be the end of my ownership with the lude once its done ;(

nah, mine sounds like the valve train is not having oil on start up, then it sounds like a bad bearing someplace.

chris, could it be rod bearings maybe?

If you just wanna replace the motor Id call importautosalvage.com Im pretty sure I remember seeing an H there recently.
Hmotorsonline also sells H long blocks for good prices

well my friend is going to AAA my car to his place where he's got an engine lift, complete tool set including timing light, tq wrench and air tools. we're going to probobly tear the block apart till we find the problem. if its fixable for under $500 or so im probobly going to try and repair it, if not im just going to swap a new motor in.
