Man...I would so rule as a forecaster (or as anything else, for that matter). Problem is I'm not gay. It seems like 80% of the local forecasters are gay...many openly. My first forecast would be something like this...

holy shit steve you're amazing!

i wish the forecasters in my area were so accurate. Just another reason not to live in the old people state, although new england isn't any better off.

oh and i like the word choice "most fuck-uppery"

Well yeah, but not because of that. All I did was save a picture, spend 1 minute in MS paint, and state the obvious. Florida is gonna get so hosed.

damn those outer bands look nasty. my roommate and friends are all locked up in my apt for the weekend it looks like. they are saying vero is getting some of the worst of it tonight. its going to be another 12-15 hrs before it passes, and i dont think orlando has even been really hit yet, so it could be 24+ hrs before my apt is clear of it all.

well around 2pm today me and a few friend went out to the beaches here in st pete and got the shit beaten out of us by the sand, but it was a neat site to behold thats for sure..got a few downed trees here and there, my friends house is without power as of 30 minutes ago....and I'm not sure whether or not my work is open tomorrow..which I'm thinking it is, the storm is pretty much moving on past us but damn these feeder bands.

also whose checked out our little friend Ivan?

so anybody got any pics from the aftermath of the storm?...i got a few but their nothing big..mostly trees down..
also I was driving today and I guess I nailed a downed branch...well my sideskirt was ripped off and theres a nice sized crack in my front lip....now I gotta take time to try to patch it up.....;(

ChrisCantSkate
09-07-2004, 12:22 AM
well, i havnt been back to florida yet, but they had a picture of vero beach on the cover of the chicago tribune with about 2 feet (my guess from the hiegth of the stop sign in the water) of standing water on a semi-major road. my house on the beach didnt get any damage, but there are no leaves on any trees in my yard and my street is completely under water.. my dads house had 3 inches of water in it though which really sucks. i herd also that a very famous resturant we had that kinda hung over the ocean washed away which sucks cause it was built in the 1930;s i believe.

so i'm really thinking about evacuating to escape this storm...this thing is huge, like a hurricane Andrew #2, and it may head for the tampabay area....a few friends said we should go on a roadtrip to escape it...but where too?...and hell gas is in such a shortage in Florida now...and the fact that most places along the highway will allow you to pump 5 gallons at a time. god damned hurricanes

Derek is starting to sound a little eager to get people into his house. It's a little serial-killerish.:D But I think the projected landfall of the hurricane so far is for it to head mostly towards the panhandle. But what the hell did Tallahasse ever do for you? Tampa will probably feel a little of it, but I think you guy's will be by and large alright this time around.
