Victim#2: 280Z

It's 9PM. Fairly cool and windy. I'm just jumpin from red light to red light tryin to get to my buds house. Mind you I'm not tryin to race, I just drive aggressively. About the fourth red light, this fat bastard in a 280Z pulls up to the side. I perform my usual launch, and he matches me through a 30MPH turn(which we take at 60MPH). So on the next red light he's inchin forward tryin to get the jump on me when it turns green. Well, it turns green, and I get the best launch of my life. Really, it was too bad that I wasted such a damn good launch. By the end of 1st gear, I'm just over 2 cars ahead, and at the middle of 2nd it's no contest. Next red light he's lookin my car up and down trying to figure it all out. :confused:

your not missing much. plus a 280z is aka a Datsun.

well I knew that before they were "z's" they were datsun...I think it was until early 70's or so wasnt it? maybe early 80's?:confused:

Datsun was never bought by Nissan. Nissan was always the parent company of Datsun, they just marketed their automobiles under the Datsun name. Datsun was changed to Nissan in 84, hence the reason you will see Datsun and Nissan logos on some of the 84 Z's. by 85, it was the Nissan 300ZX. The last year of the 280Z's was 1978, then in 1979 a new 2nd generation car was made debuting as the "280ZX". They also made 1000 special edition 280ZXR's that year. The R stands for racing. The one I raced though was a 77' 280Z, which only has about 170HP.:shocking:

I know what you guys are talking about now there was one at my school but it never clicked. I thought it was weird seeing a turbo datsun that i thought was a 300zx..
