Cheap Brakes!?

Ok, its been around a month now. As you all know I live up in the hills so I use the brakes constantly. So I hear a squeek from my break for the first time. I take it to the shop again and the mechanic tells me the brakes are new so there is no need to replace them. I tell them it makes squeeky noises when pressed. He says bear with it because those brakes are new.
My question is, does anyone know how to fix this squeeky problem. My moms new accord v6 also makes squeeky noises and thats not even a year old. Of course when I drove it, I used the brakes alot because I floor the damn car because it has the power.

what it sounds like to me is maybe you glazed your pads which would cause your brakes to make noise the only "remedy" would be to pull your wheels and calipers off and use a little sand paper on the pads to get rid of it and try not to use your brakes excessivly I had a 280Z that always had that problem and I was told that would be the only thing to do other then put up with it

Just deal with it
There isnt anything wrong w/ them so you cant do anything about it.
You can look for glazing or a pebble in there but if the mechanic already took it apart then there isnt anything there.

As long as they still work thats all that matters

that happened on my maxima when i had the brakes done. Umm i just found a back road, 80+ mph, and stand on the pedal until the anti-lock comes on. Not sure how good that can be for it but it did fix it.

dont do that since there isnt abs on our cheap hondas

You can sand down the surface's of the pads and the disk (both inside and out)...

Also there is a spray/paint that you can use called "brake quite"... it's usually blue or red... you spray it on the BACK (the contact area between the backside of the pad and the piston) of the pad and on all the shims.. this is a pretty common cause of brake squeeking although I have NO idea how...

Also the slamming on the brakes bit CAN work if you know what you're doing but as mentioned by Pdig it can also worsen your problem... and even cause new ones.

If it bother's you that much take it all apart sand all the surfaces and use the brake quite stuff... and from now on DO NOT use soft slow braking.. that will cause the pads to glaze... although most pads these days are pretty resistant to glazing.

It's probobly the shims. it's pretty common... mine did that the first time I did my pads on my current car... the shop I was at didn't have any brake quite at the time...

Oh... and honda ships all there pads with new shims and the proper grease to prevent squeeking...

I always use OEM pads... even with aftermarket rotors. I'd rather chew through pads more often than chewing through rotors.

I know a kid that put anti-squeal on the pad-side of his....pads :D

They stuck to the rotors over night (didnt drive it after finishing) and he couldnt figure out why he was having so much trouble rolling out of the driveway and then stopping at first few signs in his neighborhood.

He burned it all off eventually...but it was pretty funny and I never let him live it down.

yeah, I still have to use the breaks alot because up here are all hills. I mean crazy hills where its scary to park. I always have to have my accord v6 parked in the front so I can get ok parking. Otherwise when I parrallel park I will roll down a bit no matter what. So brakes are often used here no matter what. I down shift as much as i can but the hills are so deep i end up braking.

Do you leave the car in gear when you park?
Do you turn the wheel so it doesnt roll straight down the hill?

No, I leave the car on Neutraul, also I have to turn wheel to the sidewalk cuz them faggots gave me a ticket for forgetting to do that once. ANd of course the e-brake has to be all the way down or it will roll.

If you leave it in gear it will help the car from rolling away on you

I do both parking brake and gear when parking it (flat or steep ground)

one time my stupid brothers friend was playing with my stick shift while the car was off. He freaggin shifted without clutching cuz hes a dumbass, i thought it didnt work like that but the car was off so it did. He did it several times. Later that day matinence light came on. Does it mess up the car if you gear the shift without pressing clutch, when the car is off?

Just put it in 1st gear.

It really shouldnt hurt the car to put in in gear while its off. Nothing is moving, afterall. I just wouldnt make a practice of it.

Did you pull the cel when the light came on or did it just go away on its own?

its honda matinence required bullshit. so i did my ignition technique which turns it off. The mechanic told me that when the light comes on every 5k mile or so, its just honda trying to make money off you so he taught me how to do it. Besides nothing was wrong it just came on out of no where when i started the car. So i did the ignition thingy to shut it off
the ignition thingy requires starting and turning off the car several times. It works. and you get the damn light away from your sight while driving.

on the older models you just have to push a little inset button on the cluster
