After coming back to Elkhart from Indy I met up with some friends and some guys that wanted to buy my system. On the way home instead of taking the bypass I decide its a nice night and take the long way home.On the way home down a road were there are like 10 light I pass a older camaro pulling out of a drive way and he puls up next to me at a light. So Im sitting there and he pulls up and my windows are down cause its like 78 degrees and he asks if I want to run it? Not seeing "Formula 350" or anything like that on it I decide why not and boost his ego. I look over and say "Yea sure why not? You'll probably beat me anyway" And just smiled ;) (the big cheezy!) He just chuckles and said "yea your probably right I will smoke you" Ok..... He tries that mediaocre (sp?) attempt at "power breaking" which he cant even do.....So the light changes green and I get the BEST launch of my life and almost instantly put a car length on him. ;) Tear into second and pull away a little more...Throw it into 3rd and at about 80 I quit...But my gears grind every 2ndto 3rd shift so he is convinced that I have a turbo and that I cheated.....So we pull into a gas station and humour and let him check. sure enough he doesnt find one....He wants to do it again so again I humour him and we line up again. Same thing...This time he dont stop he just flies by me like he won.....I just laughed and headed home.

A shitty accord? My accord fully loaded with navi has destroyed any mustange i have went against. The only one i ever lost too was at the track he ran a 13.9 and i ran a 14.3. The only reason he won was because he was on slicks. I was gaining on him a little over mid track.

hey i have an idea... lets take a car thats designed to run 320hp, and give the times that the 200hp version runs, then compair it to a highly modded v8.

oh and your hopeless person who needs to take it to a shop or whatever you said... so your saying you can do EVERYTHING on your car? you have every specialized tool, you can rebuild vital engine parts that have no room for error.. you can reprogram everything electrical in your car if something goes hay-wire. i agree if your gonna own a car that you want to "tune" you need to have at the very least a general grasp on basic mechanics, however im not going to learn how to port and polish my engine to gain every avalible hp out of it when i can pay someone who has many many motors of experience to do it right, the first time.

The thing is, I work on my own bikes. What mods do you have on your Camaro to make it run low 10's? If you want to know the truth, I think you are probably some 15 year old kid that doesn't even own a car. So lets go, what mods do you have on that Camaro? What kind of lifters did you use? Are you running forced or N/A? What cam size did you go with? What is your final gear drive ratio? What kind of ignition did you decide would work best? Did you go with the factory swingarm or did you upgrade it? Those things suck on the first gen's.

Dude...I don't see that combo going 10s unless you're pushing around 20psi of boost. One can only guess at your cam size since ".052 just isn't right. ".502 or ".520 would be more like it and that wouldn't help much with a 3500rpm stall on a TH400. That's also nowhere near the cam you'd need to make big power with a blower and a 502. Plus you've made the ridiculously retarded mistake of raping your front/rear weight distribution ratio with that unnecessary big block. If you're such a great mechanic you'd know that a 350 properly built would've been a much better bet and wouldn't act like a fucking boat anchor. I have some serious doubts about the whole combo in general. And Isky lifters? Are you kidding me? Fucking christ...move out of the 1970s. And don't even try to tell me I don't know...my GT has broken 9s so I know a thing or two about engine and chassis setups. gt40 that is not true, your 331 will not stand a chance against my 502, and as for the small block option the last thing I wanted to do is to go buy a 350 bore it .030" over to make it a 355 then put the stroke of 3.75" to make it a 383, to expensive in the long run, the 502 was in scratch in dent inventory, the only thing that was wrong with it was the crate was smashed the block is fine, It runs on 114 octane, and is actually streetable, fuck gas, I dont care I've got a job, I'm not poor, yes big inch small blocks are ok but they don't give the power I want/need power

Is that so? Odd...especially since my car runs faster than yours. The last time the 331 combo got dynoed it spun the drums to 657hp...at the wheels. It's put down a 9.98 and still gets me to work at school whenever I want it to. Now I don't know what version of "streetable" you go by, but 114 octane isn't "streetable" in my book. I don't want to take a ride out to the airport or the track everytime it's ready to fill the tank. And an engine in scratch and dent? You're kidding right? I think 94oc is the highest street gas we can buy here in Canada. 114 is prop fuel you don't just get it anywhere..

the highest they sell here in florida is 105,a nd that is sold as race gas. sure i can go out to airport but like gt siad that is a waste. oh and i picked up an 86 notch back GT, hoping to turn out some nice numbers with that.

Notch's are ok...but with an '86 you'll have your work cut out for you with that damn speed density system. Start looking at mass air conversions if you wanna mod it.

yeah well the kid has already done some work to the car, so i dont know what he has done to it. it is my friends broothers car, and he said it was pretty fast, but i dont know if i want to really keep the car with gas prices the way they are, i might just sell it and fix up the civic
