Okay so here is the background....my brother has a 01 cavi 2.2L, with catback intake, plugs and wires. He's got it lowered on kyb's. Both have low pros. I have intake, new header back exhaust, no cat, exedy clutch and fidenza flywheel, plugs and wires. Before my new exhaust got finished put on this morning my brother could easilily beat my car in 1/4 mile. After i got out of work and it kinda was getting dark we decided to see how much faster the exhaust made my car. NOTE TO ALL: i think my cat was plugged and header was cracked in many places so i lost alot of power their and gained it back with the new setup. Here is how it went:
1st i drop it from 3k and launch hard. Very little spin. I hit redline at 33mph. Try to get into 2nd and grind the gears a little and hit it hard. Get to 55 (around their wasn't looking at the time). We neck and neck both cars screaming. I get into 3rd and my car loves it. I start to pull a little but hit redline pretty quickly. 4th i pull harder and he's about a car length away and pulling. We decided to stop cause we ran out of road. That's was my first race ever and it was crazy. We did it twice the second time i had a better run and won by more. I'm pretty impressed how much power was gained back from my headerback setup.

almost every cavalier ive seen has been a slow piece of crap. im still confused why people want to make them faster.
there was this APC cavalier, i called it that, cause it had APC decals all over it. I heard a loudass exhaust from it, appeared to be bolted on. I'll never forget this, because i took my moms chrysler town & country van (with car seats in the rear), and went to fill it up for gas. as all ricers are, this APC cavalier wanted to race this van, and I was laughing along with my friend in the passenger. when the light hit green, i floored the pedal and the van did a short burnout, and next thing i know, when i got to second gear (automatic transmission van, all are), that cav was still in the intersection while i was already making a turn into the shopping center.
wow, ill never forget that day. cavs to me are like geo metros, but a lil nicer to look at.

well my brother doesn't have decals or what ever. he made it look really nice and stock, he's got 16 on the car and front and rear lip with a okay sounding exhaust. Alot of the cavi's i see around here are POS and my brothers actually looks 100x better than most

Doesn't this explain just about every small motored car that people mod?
Good kill, this reminds me of the talk i've had with friends over american hp and jap hp.

my friends cavi is a 2002 cavi z24.... his shift kit intake and exhaust even sitting on 19's could hang with my car.
