non vtec

My friend gave me a d16y7 non vtec head for my 88 civic. It has the intake manifold and throttle body. If I'm not mistaken it will bolt right up to my factory block. Is there anyway to get the vtec silaniod(sp?) to fit on the head. Or would it be easier to just get a vtec head?

just go w/ a vtec head from a z6 or a y8

Do you think a junk yard would trade a Y8 for a Y7?

Depends on if the yard knows hondas or not. If anything it would be a little cash plus the head for the trade.
But maybe a 1:1 would be fine w/ most
