what do I need to build my 1997 ex engine, for turbo?

Putting turbo kit in my 97 civic ex, I need to build up the engine, if any ones has infor on what I need and the brand will be helpful, any infor is good thank you

internals should come first.:yes:
Pistons: JE or Aries
Camshaft: get spoon/mugen skunk2 makes an alright one

i dont know much about Civics anymore. so ill let someone else help yea.

depends on how far u want to go. How much boost do u want to run? Generally its your rods, and pistons that fail first.

I just want to protect the engine, I will not go pass 6 or 7 on the psi, just need it to be strong and hold for a long time

if youre only doing that much the internals are going to be pretty much fine.
Get a leak down and compression test first. That will tell you if the engine is fine as it is

for 6-7psi, just keep it stock. spend the money you would've spent on internals on some good engine managment and tuning.

if you want to up the boost later build...

You can run as high as 15-28psi with nothing but rods and pistons...

And even them you can get away with budget items...

There's a guy on H-T from taiwan that sells kits with b16a rods matched to some odd toyota factory forged piston that's only available overseas...

Drops right in... I think you may have to notch the block (have to for after market rods too)... but that's about it...

With nothing but that you could run 18psi all day long with no problems... he runs around 20-22 on occasion with nothing else but a block guard and a thicker head gasket.

But as mentioned... there's not point in spending the money on internals for a kit... spend the money on management or injectors.. a fuel pump or some better pieces than came with the kit... like bov or intercooler...
