Where to find brake rotor set screws?

I can't believe that such a simple part is so hard to find!

I'm doing a rear disc swap for my civic, so I've got the rear trailing arms with everything from a 92 integra. I'm replacing the calipers and rotors, and that is where I'm having problems.

Because we didn't have the proper tools to remove the rotors (apparently you need to use an impact driver, and hit it with a big hammer to loosen the screws...whatever). Well we ended up using lots of PB blaster, and impact hammer with a chisel on the end, and my electric drill with a screw removing bit in it. Needless to say, we got that mofo out, but of course the screw is done for. I figured replacements would be easy to find, but i am wrong.

Autozone laughed at me, and my local hardware store tried hard to find what I needed, but they didn't have it. I guess it is a "1/4 28" phillips machine screw. These are the two screws that hold the rotors to the hub. Does anyone know where to get new ones? I checked online, but found nothing. I'm going to try calling honda tomorrow, but chances are they'll have to order it and they'll charge me a ridiculous price.

Any ideas?

you dont really need them
once you put the caliper and the wheels on they will stay there

I should have a set sitting around if you want to buy them off me...but like I said, they arent necessary. My friend and I roll around w/o them all the time, no issues. How could there be?

or the honda dealer. ofcourse you will overpay for them, but it's all part of the fun. just like pdiggs said you don't really need them once you get the wheel and tighten the lug nuts

I do not use them either ... u dont need them...:)

The only reason they make these things is so the rotor doesnt fall off the hub during assembly @ honda....and to get seized to there making it a huge pita when its time to change rotors :mad:

I was going to try honda and see how bad they were going to screw me (no pun intended), but actually, I can add in those screws any time i want; just take the wheels off!

Well, you all nailed that question to the wall, here's another one:
What is the best way to put in wheel studs?

One was missing so i got a replacement, but it looks like it needs to be pressed in. I found one solution online already at http://www.hybridautomotive.com/tech/arp_studs/

anyone have any comments on this solution? i think i'm going to give it a try.

well everything worked out. honda had exactly four of those set screws for 1.84. then i went to the hardware store to get a nut and two washers for the wheel stud. using the air wrench, I ghetto-pressed it into the hole.

now all i need to do is find where the heck i put the rest of the screws for the brake cable bracket, and I can remount the trailing arms. wee!

yes... i had to drill mine out after every other option i could think of didnt work :mad:
