If you watch U.S. t.v. and have seen ANY of the "America's Craziest Police Chases" I'm sure you've seen them used in LA which has some of the busiest highways in the country....they use them all the time...it was just crazy seeing them run the car into the wall to stop the van..........

we do things differently up here. Its why our crime rate is less then yours, few people own guns, and childern dont shoot up their classmates.
you can bash canada all you want, but its only ignorant americans who run their mouths about a country they no little about. If you only knew....

I dont think we use the strips very often because the drivers in the past have lost control of their cars and caused more damage and increase the risk to other drivers.

gotcha....what was the original reason for the chase anyway? I don't think I remember them mentioning it.......
Nevermind...just rewatched the video....robbery suspects.......

So you'd rather let them get away or drive into that truck that was on it's side a little further down the highway?

D you cant always talk sense into these people... remember they can be rather sheltered and ignorate about the ways of the world. If it doesnt happen like this in the US it isnt the right way. Remember criminals have rights too...
Come on people...let's not turn this into a U.S vs Canada thing....

Its a bad button to push when americans assume its the wrong way to do something, or belittle a country because we're different then america. if they only knew all the things we had in common and all the things we've given the us, maybe its the education system, water you drink or culture but some americans can come off as real ignorate pricks.

It's not just Americans Rob...there are ignorant fucks in every country....it's the way people are brought up and what they learn through their surroundings....I've been to Canada, it's a beautiful country, and there are hot looking women.........no problem with your country from my prospective.......

I know bro, and if you havent noticed none of my comments have been directed towards you. Due to the rule of this board Im not allowed to direct any of my comments towards one person because 'personal attacks' are not allowed.
but I do hear you on the big picture

I do it to push buttons...because its fun to see you get riled up over nothing.
And yes, its the culture that does it.
Though, I still se no reason to do what they did. Lots of other non-car-slamming options, like spikes, electrical overloaders (we saw those in 2f2f...), and hell, how about following them from a safe distance?
Like everything else here, its open to opinion.
Pdiggs....did you watch the video all the way thru? They wanted to stop the van before it got to that mess from the turn over.........
Oh and you deserve a virtual bitch slap for even mentioning 2F2F.....:nana:

nah...I didnt watch the whole thing. I was preoccupied w/ something else....probably...
Yeah, I watched 2f2f...it was at a party I went to earlier in the winter. It was better than the first...at least more realistic
edit* ok, I watched the whole thing... Fine...I guess its justified...sorta

Dude...fuck criminal's rights. If I were making laws (man...that'd be scary) I'd say if you get injured in the comission of a violent felony you don't get shit for help. No ambulance, no medical treatment...if you pull through then hoorah for you but if you die the rest of us are better off. And the US being right? Man...when did that happen. I don't remember the last time we did something right. But you're right...there are a ton of arrogant pricks in the U.S. Just about as many as there are in Canada and Mexico and everywhere else in the world. It's called ethnocentrism.
As for the cop in that video...here's my problem with what he did. HE WAS INSANELY WRECKLESS. It's only by sheer luck he didn't kill another motorist or himself. That squad car could've sooooo easily spun out the other way and he'd be big time fucked. Like someone mentioned before, there are stop sticks or PIT manuevers so you don't endanger others and have a relatively good chance of not killing someone else or yourself. If a U.S. cop did that and it was caught on tape I'd put down good money his ass would get canned.
Oh...and I was just fucking around about my slant at Canada. My dad used to work for our local police department so I've learned how NOT to handle things like that. That chase is a textbook example of how NOT to do things. Guy just got lucky when it worked.

Dude, you can dish it but you cant handle it. In person you'd hate me, God knows I'm not going to be anything but myself in person or the net.
So start dealing with it, and dont go waving your mod status around like it matters. You'll have problems with people like me on or off the internet. It burns you inside to read some of the things I say, but hey dude my opions and comments are very blunt and if it hurts your feelings so be it.
You'll realize one day I did nothing wrong but called you out on being stuborn. Blaming a major company for your isolated problems is rediclus (sp?). Get a grip on things dude.
As for the police thing, man whatever works for the situation. To say there is only one way for something to unfold 'text book' is silly. It all ended well and thats all that matters... our police and your police do things different.. just leave it at that.

Sorry, but youre pretty wrong in all your assumptions.
I never go around "waving mod status"...I really could care less. When I said what I said to you, which was via pm, specifically to keep crap off the boards, I did it as a warning because were it up to several other people, you'd already be gone...simple as that.
And, as I seem to remember, I said that it really didnt happen because of you calling me stubborn (Acutally the word was 'moron')...it was the final straw from all the snot-nosed junk you spew.
Ive already done something that I shouldnt have by posting this in the public view...oh well.
Oh, and if you think my pm was because I was already in a bad mood from the health of my mom, youre wrong...I already had it in for you and your crap beforehand.
(Im done)

As for the video...I thought it was funny. I don't give a shit about text book tactics...Criminals...I don't give a shit about them. I like GT's view.Dude...fuck criminal's rights. If I were making laws (man...that'd be scary) I'd say if you get injured in the comission of a violent felony you don't get shit for help. No...it's how cops avoid killing bystanders. Departments have standards of conduct and American or Canadian that guy is a complete tool. And you're right...depts. here and in the great white north DO do things differently. We don't dress up in silly uniforms and ride horses.
Oh...and Pdiggs...you're my hero for that last post.

Seriously man...you keep talking about ignorance, but you're using phrases like "you Americans" and making gross generalizations. Now I made my comments about Canada in jest but it would seem that largely YOU are the one being ignorant by lumping all Americans into one category.

Its like I gotta lay everything out there.. 'you' refers to the people in this thread who are american and posting about a country they no nothing about.
When yuo know as much about my country as I know about yours then we'll talk. But until then there is nothing to talk about.
as for all americans being dumb, as I see thats where you're going to go with this. Not all of you are, there are some cultured and educated americans out there. As a society you are very sheltered though, and this is a comment coming from someone who owns an apt in Cali, so its not like I dont enjoy being in the US.
How about you just cool off man, I'm done with this... theres no showing you something different.

Well to be fair Rob you have to realize that such statements do directly imply a sort of "holier than thou" attitude. Even if you don't come out and say it directly, it's still a strong implication of something.

Again...an assumption. How the hell do you know my level of education when it comes to Canada?
*EDIT* If you want to "show me something different", try doing it in a mature way instead of trying to lump me and others here into a group. No one ever gets their point across by being childish.
