My neighboor has an old 2door lude im guessing bout a 86 - 90 depending on if its a 5 speed or not the motor runs I havent seen it (the motor) so I don't know if its valuable but I guess what I'm asking is what series lude motors are good? should I try and get it, just too sell?

I will find out tomorrow what series it is and post it...

its a 2.0 F23a i believe. either way the year series of motor that everyone seems to want is the 92-96 H22. its a 2.2L 190Hp 168tq and vtec. i got the JDM version which has more power and compersion.

K, here's the scoop. I looked everywhere for engine code but could not find. Its a dual overhead cam.it is an SI its a 5spd Its a 90',its got 63,000 on odom. I am going to go ahead and buy it for like 250.00. It runs and drives with no problems, she's like 50 and has another car and she has to move.

When I get it I'll be able to find engine code..
Thanks sfking...

k, I found it on the forums its the b20a5. It can build worthy depending on which way I wanted to go, either turbo or natural asp...

either way its worth buying some guys in different forums are saying they have 300k miles on theres, and its still going strong..Man I love HONDAS!!!!!!

hmm... not to be the downer but i dont think the b20a5 has the support behind it that the other b20's do. i wish i knew something about them, maybe someone in the civic forum knows somehitng about it since its a B-serise

yes for 250 you cant go wrong esp with that many miles. the oldies are still good. the only thing is that there slow 115HP. have no real body mods you can do. the mounts and tranny for the CRV motor fits perfect! so there is really a good swap potental. i would take it in a heart beat and use it for a dialy driver.

yea thats what I planned on just driving er dead, I had read in other forums that you can change the head to vtec head but the piston or rod clearence is too low, So you have to buy custom made or aftermarket...Too much money Im just gunna use it for winter so I can park my 2003 and keep it warm  in the winters...Thanks for all the input...

go to preludepower.com for all your prelude questions. they are very helpful. i used to drive a 89 lude and they helped me out alot. the b20a5 is a good motor and responds well to boost. have fun with it.

actually a CR-V motor is not worth dropping in it. but its the only good option if you wanted to stay with a B series motor.

why is not a good idea...you need to fabracate new mounts. the tranny doesnt match up. just becuase there both b series doesnt mean its like the D series and match to all motors in that series. old vs new. the motor would cost more then dropping a H22 or 23 in that year lude.
