I think vortech units are crap.
If you want a supercharger, get a roots type - JRSC

You're right! Vortech gets better numbers on the dyno, but they have a very strange design. It's basically a mechanically-driven turbo; the best of all possible worlds in their mind. Personally, I think they are jack-of-all-trades, master of none. Votechs have problems when the turbine reaches the speed of sound, on the top-end, and bottom-end and mid-range is kinda sucky, where you spend most of your driving day...
JRSC has the opposite problem, if you wanna call it a problem. It makes lots of power down low. As a matter of fact, if you look at the dyno charts, a JRSC will make way more power at 3000 RPM than a stock motor does at redline.
Turbo is the best compromise. They are relatively cheap and easy to install, the top-end is great, and the bottom-end is manageable, as long as it's setup right and isn't lagging out on you.
If you like to race occasionly, get a turbo. You won't be sorry.
If you do most of you driving on the street, in traffic, et cetera, get the JRSC. You'll think you died and went to heaven.
If you're an oddball and spend a lot of time on the dyno, get the Vortech...

ok, i dont remember where it was, but SOMEBODY (either here or on another board) posted a comparison of the Vortech unit vs a Turbo setup on the same car.
The Vortech unit DID have higher HP numbers, but that was only at peak RPM while the turbo unit put out WAY more overall power and an assload of more torque . . .
