Someone tell me if my car is supposed to do this. I was driving home today and decided to near-floor the gas pedal. The car did this jumping thing, like it wasn't getting enough gas. I have noticed a slight mis-fire in the engine too. Any ideas? How would I go about fixing the mis-fire? The spark-plug wires are relatively-new Bosch 8mm wires. I think they are about 1 to 2 years old. Thanks guys:)

Check the spark plugs and if those are good, check the firing order.

o.k. sadly the spark plugs are fine (gap, build-up or the lack thereof, etc...) so now I am at an impass. I had a friend tell me to check the feul filter and then maybe the feul pump. About how much would these run me? Could either of these be causing my problem?:irked: Thanks again for all the advice. Oh, and I noticed a strange clicking sound coming from the engine bay. It sounds like a really thin fan hitting something. No, it's not the fan:banghead: God I wish my car had more balls.:chicken:

i have missed what kind of car you have, but mine does the same thing. the hitting noise i guess it's just the valve lash adjustament

Let me kinda rephrase my problem. Where I live the speed limit in housing is 15 m.p.h. (strictly enforced:busted: ). my car does this jumping thing at about that speed. My dad has a truck that can do the same speed, only without the jumping. It's more annoying now, but then again, so is the whole car. I gotta get a new one :radar: . Thanks:bomb:

does the jumping only happen when you let off the gas at 15? if so switch out of first and then it probably wont do that. Another thing that i have seen cause "loss of power" when there is a demand for it was the ignition coil needed changing.
