Well, I just got fired from 7-Up/Dr. Pepper Bottling Co. for neglecting my duties. I'm supposed to fill all the shelves on this Hy-Vee grocery store full of pop/soda. So I did. And since they're on a big sale, all the pop sold, and so I CAME BACK to the store to stock it AGAIN, and my salesperson got all pissed off and said that I wasn't doing my job, and called my big boss and got me fired for "not stocking the store".

I don't even know what to do now. I'm kind of freaked out. I didn't even do anything wrong.

*sigh*

if you like the job then tell your manager what happened..the store can do an account of what they sold as proof that you were already there once before too

Well, I really hated the job...but I still feel like crap because I got fired for doing nothing wrong. The guy didn't like me.

Oh well....

you still should get the sale history and show it to your boss...even if you dont care. That way he knows what really happened and cannot legally give you a bad reference

dude that sucks....I know what it feels like (granted I got hired back at my job a month later after they got their heads out of their @sses and realized what was actually going on). I agree with Pdiggs though....you should at least try to "clear" your name since you actually didn't do anything wrong.

I'm probably going to just let my boss know what happened (A couple other guys working at the company will back me up) so at least if I reference them for a future job they won't give me a bad report.

I'm totally with Pdiggs...clear your name. Get a sales report and show it to him. If you don't want the job back just ask if your can resign. Why, you might ask? This is what happened to my brother:

He works as a paramedic and used to work for a company called MAST. They ran one guy who complained of some pains (I honestly can't remember what at the moment...I believe it was in his chest) but said he was fine and din't need to go anywhere. My bro and his partner talked him into going to the hospital so they call the hospital where he wants to go and they say they don't have any beds. My brother asks if they're closed for arrivals and they say no...we just don't have any beds. So legally paramedics have to take you where you request (within reason...at least here) so long as they aren't closed for arrivals. They take him there and the nurses give them a bunch of shit about how they said they were full and whatnot. About an hour later a nurse calls the MAST supervisor and says the patient was having a heart attack and my bro and his partner failed to recognize it. Now...if you don't know...it's very seldom a nurse calls a paramedic company to report such a serious problem...that's what doctors do. They also refused to turn over any medical information pertaining to the patient. Apparently they also failed to realize a paramedic's main job is transportation and limited medical care...they don't have the equipment onhand to diagnose every little possible problem. Anyway, MAST tried to fire my brother and knock his partner down more than a couple of notches (his partner had been there a lot longer). My brother filed a grievance with his union and they let him resign with a small payout for severence or something like that...it's been a while so I don't remember exactly. Basically if you get fired it's on your resume...if you resign they can't say shit about you in a reference.

I used to work for Hy-Vee. It was my first job when I was 15-16, and yes, the people at Hy-Vee suck. They're like....pseudo-Nazi's or something.

GT40FIED - that sucks man. What did your brother end up doing?

He took the money they offered and went to work for another company called NRAD (Northland Regional Ambulance Dept.). He's gonna go try to go work for KCK in their ambulance or fire dept. (he's also certified as a firefighter). So everything worked itself out I suppose. Speaking of my brother and Hy-Vee...he used to work at 95th and Quivera (I'm sure Dzur knows where this is...screw the rest of you. Hehe) and he almost got fired for trying to start a union when he was like 16. So much for "employee owned". Bitches.

my advice to you is:

1. clear your name, try and reach a mutual understanding with your previous boss.

2. get a job quick. don't wait, or else you're funds will drain faster than you know.

Where do you live man? I know exacly where Quivera is.

And yeah, Hy-Vee is very un-union friendly, much like Wal-Mart.

Well...right now I live in Pittsburg, KS while I'm at school. I'm occassionally in KC (although that's becoming more rare since my brother's wife leaving has made shit weird). But when I'm there I reside near Oak Park mall...pretty much about 2/3 of a mile or so off of Bluejacket near 95th.

Cool....let me know if you're in town and want to hang out or take a look at each other's rides. I'd like to see your GT - sounds pretty sweet.

Sure man...next time it's actually running right. I've got some electrical bug to work out...I think the turbo heat screwed with one of my ignition wires, just don't know which one. And I think somehow my starter chipped one or more flywheel teeth so it's just collecting dust until I get off my ass.
