93 Civic Sedan 1.5 D15b7 Manual...
Ok got the ride where it wilol start up....
the initial start up is fine as it start to idle up a little...but after about 2-5mins the idle starts to go up and down....I can rev it up and it sound fine let off it goes to a reg idle then up and down...

any ideas....all fluids are topped off and all too....

vaacum leak or faulty iacv valve, or theidle is set to high. what did u do to your car ?

I had replaced the timing belt on it....no vaccuum leaks anywhere as nothing had been removed to cause one...

maybe your timing is of by 2 teeth ot something. :yes: but seriously my car did the same thing after the dealer worked on it ( so don't feel bad if you worked on it yourself :D). it turns out the upped the idle

Mine was doing that a few weeks ago (well its over a month now..)
anyway, just hit up your auto store for some throttle body cleaner.
Remove the IACV, clean that out really well, reinstall, and then follow the directions on the can to clean the rest of the intake.

When you go to the store, ask them to point out the least powerful of the cleaners... They make different strengths, but I dont think Ive ever seen them labeled as such.

Did it only start happening after replacing the timing belt? An off-timing will do that, such as rotating the distributor cap or adjusting the belt too far off. A buddy of mine rotated his distributor cap too far on his '92 and it did that, ran fine anytime but at idle.

If that's not it, follow the advice of the guys above. They know more than me.

well when I unplug the TPS,throttle position sensor, it idles just fine...So right now I'm to the assumption that's bad...:mad:

i think you have your idle set too high. with the tps disconected should idle like 500-550 rpms, and connected like 800-900 i think
