Hi, this question is for a friend. He is thinking about buying a 2001 Accord with a 3.0 V6 VTEC.(I had never herd of a V6 vtec from an Accord. Is this true and if it is how much power can be made from it?) He already owns a 90 Accord with a H22 but it is an A/T. Should he go for the new Accord or stay with the H22 in his 90. thank you:

there is a 3.0 v6 vtec for accords. it comes with 200 hp...dunno about torque. btw....they only have these as A/T except for the 7th gens 2dr coupes.

Well, the H22A will probably be more fun, but that car's getting old, so it depends what kind of condition its in. Always nice to get a new car, but those V6 A/Ts aren't exactly a modder's dream...

not well... I wouldn't suggest it as a platform to mod... it would be easier to just buy the 4cyl 5speed and mod it instead...

well i comptech makes a supercharger for it. the v6 accord makes 200hp and 202ft-lbs of tq.

I can only imagine it would make for a difficult platform to mod as well. Hell my accord is difficult sometimes and its only a 1996. I agree with Highlander just get the i4 and therefore when and if it actually gets real fast then you really have something to be proud of

maybe he should rethink getting an accord if he's looking for a car to mod?

Do you guy think he should keep his 90 Accord with the H22 even if it is a A/T? or trade it in and get a different car? thanks

If the A/T is his only setback, why not do a transmission swap?

Yeah I say instead of spending that money that he should drop in a new transmission, build it up, make it quicker than it is;)
