When are these shit heads going to stop? Where is my money for this?
LINK: I just had this problem a few months ago (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&category=36475&item=2457487956&sspagename=STRK%3AMEBWA%3AIT)

http://i2.ebayimg.com/02/i/01/43/a0/37_1.JPG

Another person has stolen a pic of my car to sell something...this time the lip.
Ive contacted him and demanded 15% of auction ending total price as compensation because he legally stole the picture of my car.

Thanks chad for the heads up

just put your name on the pics, so it doesn;t happen again.

yeah, Ive already done that...I made the name wavy and stuff so it would be more of a pain to edit out....they'll be uploaded as soon as this is resolved (so there's unchanged proof)

Nah...I know he wont give me anything. Its more to make him scared or upset. Either way, he'll probably remove the pic from the auction.

For some reason I cant contact ebay. It always says that my browser is blocking cookies, even when it is set at "allow all cookies"...kinda pissing me off...

I was kidding man. Just a statement on our over litigous society.

true statement. people need to stop giving lawyers so much money to argue something they could settle out of court.

people file law suits for fun.

You cant do anything about it...If it is on the NET it is fair game. All I can say is make up a fake ebay Account an bid ridiculously so you will always win...Then tell him to go F*** his Dad!

If he is directly linking that picture from a source that you have control over, you could just replace the picture with a text picture saying "I'm a lazy mofo who cant take his own pictures. Don't buy from me."

I believe there was something like that posted awhile back. hilarious.

I always wondered how you do that...any info?

If the guy is linking directly to your pic, you could replace your pic with one that says that with the exact same url to be linked to.

^^exactly. Unfortunatly, it takes just about the same lack of effort to copy and past that picture to his own hosting service, to ebay, etc.

it looks like he has it hosted with ebay for his auction. unless that is where he got your pic from, you can't do much about it.

gotcha...so simple :dunce:

yeah, he's saved the image becuase its edited (the gay ass blue circle) and its definately on egay's hosting server

EDIT**I just got an email from ebay cs (was finally able to contact them)
they say I need to have hosted or host that image myself on my own account before they will remove his...
so here's what Im gonna do. I will put that pic up selling.....the grass, behind the car, for $1000. If one of you would "buy it now" I could solve the whole problem now and in the future. Of course you wont get the grass...but you wont be billed either :D
trust me........;)
Im seriously going to do it...

You're going to pay the ebay fees on this?

pdiggitydogg
02-03-2004, 05:34 PM
yeah its small, I dont mind paying a few dollars...
I changed the price to $1.00 (because Im an idiot and didnt remember that $1000 would make a really expensive ebay fee)

edit**Nevermind...someone bought it!

SolPol

the stolen picture is still posted...at least as of 1 day and 18h left...

good thinking though...hope the person that bought it doesnt actually want to receive a blade of grass.

i havent done any ebaying (im a half.com junkie), but do humans actually approve each auction, or is it an automatic process? Because it wouldn't take any effort at all to rename the file, host it somewhere else, or modify it enough to still be reused on a later auction.

pdiggitydogg
02-05-2004, 05:29 AM
HA
eBay removed his entire auction!
YAY
I win
:D

ebpda9

usually it is an automated process, but in case problems arrive the humans will interfere:yes:

that site looks like its full of idiots. Reading that thread confirms that nobody cares about what is right, just whatever they can get away with. ridiculous.

pdiggitydogg
02-06-2004, 02:13 PM
exactly...I emailed the admins twice about removing my name and email and they tell me to "F*** off"
Kyle, Im sorry you have to live in a state with people like that living in it.

blind34_1

The only satisfaction I get from this is knowing that when sites get to that point (telling people to f*** off) they will slowly die. Remember hondaboard.com? exact same thing.
