Definitely a good movie, but I think it's good to go into the movie not really knowing anything about it.

For those who've seen it already, in a nutshell it's a timetravel movie. Still somewhat confusing but there is no one real meaning to the movie, it's more about what you take away from it than what was intended to be taken away. Watch it with the director's commentary, it's very interesting to hear some of what they have to say. There are lots of things in the movie I had NO clue about until they mentioned it....just little things they put in there. Some stuff they explain, some stuff they don't. Also some of the deleted scenes are pretty interesting. I still haven't figured out for myself whether Frank is evil or good.......

I look forward to more Richard Kelly movies.

Ok...I hate to rehash threads but this one got me thinking and made me go looking for my own copy of Donnie Darko. After much looking I finally found it in one of my moving boxes and watched it last night. I think Spooge covered the basic premise of the movie. I also think there's a small amount of commentary in there about how society percieves those with mental problems. I was also kinda confused about the girlfriend...she says she wants to kiss him when it reminds her of how beautiful things can be, but they only kiss after something horrible happens. But I must say I was suprised to see Noah Wiley, Drew Barrymore, and Patrick Swayze in such a dark movie the first time I saw it. All in all, good stuff.
