need suggestions for residue from 'ex' symbol. cars a 99 and there was a crusted epoxy type residue that can not be removed with hairdryer/credit card... rubbing alcohol.. or gasoline.. anybody have any solvent solutions for this kinda crap? thankks

GOO GONE!

just heat it up a bit, get a cloth with goo gone and start gently rubbing.....

wash, dry and wash when your done! i did the same thing to my car! looks great!

argh guys i tried 3m adhesive remover cuz i couldnt find any goo gone but that surprising didnt work.. is my only option to put a decal over or is there a cure.. or will goo gone get that?

Holy crap...what a mess

heat it up w/ a hair dryer and get some Goo Gone...its better than the 3M remover IMO

You might want to try a single sided razor as well...just be really careful........thats the biggest mess Ive seen from that stuff. Personally, I say, just put the emblems back on if you cant get it to turn out right...

thats what im sayin too.. when i get some time tonite ill work on it but thats on there pretty good.. u can see i already scratched the paint lol

yeah...i did notice
try the goo gone+hair dryer combo...it should work

also try rubbing it with your fingernails when its heated...that might work too

heat it up and see if you can rool that glue off the paint..goo gone w/ heat would be the ideal for that I would think...
Any of those citrus cleaners that are natural should also work...Just not any of the gritty stuff so it won't mess up the paint finish..

alright boys so heres the result... no solvents would wear down the residue even goo gone so i had no other option but to shave it with a one-sided razor.. im happy with the results and have learned my lesson lol.. the finish has lost its gloss in that area but im sure theres somethin out there that can even the finish.. what do u think?

Well...it turned out looking good (at least on one side)

To get the gloss back, but put several layers of wax on.
To get the cuts and stuff out just fill in w/ touch-up paint, wet sand down to even it out, and apply a sealant and wax.
