it's actually the law, you can go to jail, though i doubt they'd go that far.

yea, i just got that thing in the mail too. It says on it that its the law, and that you can go to jail. I would send it in if I were you. All i have to do is call the number they put on the card and then type in the pin number they put on the card.

If the military has a draft, they have your name so they can pick you :)

well without a selective service number you won't be able to apply for financial aid thru the government, or work for government agencies like usps and shit. also that thing is required if you are like me and need to apply for citizenship. i got the number 4 years ago when i turned 19 or so, and yeah, i was in the us when i turned 18, but no one really bothered to send me one of those cards ;)

it also sets you up as a selected volunteer to help in any civil emergencies such as natural disasters and what not. like right now for example if there was a huge earthquake that devastated an area and there are not enough people to help(since all the national guard are in iraq) they will pull your name for involutary service to help.

dunno...I dont think i am going to send it out anyways...i go to college and receive financial aid...besides its only 2,000 a semester, its cheaper than wat my parents were paying when i was in highskool so i doubt that they'd mind paying for it if they do decide to take away my financial aid...
