Just wondering if anyone has any personal experience with rmoving their cat? I REALLY do not want my car to sound rice, and think that my Greddy EVO exhaust sounds pretty nice, but wouldn't mind it a tad more throaty.... So, how much louder would the car get, maybe ricy?

Just looking for some guidance.

What we did with my cat was just to punch a hole straight through it. We also took out the resonator and that defiantly made it much deeper and it sounds healthier. If you get a race cat or straight through piping i'd say that baby would growl.

Hrmmm. I think I may go with a race cat, like you mentioned. We're looking at $150, and that way my ass would be covered. The other option was to start punching holes like you mentioned, but I would hate to get slapped with a $5000 fine. Thanks for your help.

Through the catalyst. You can hollow out your stock cat basically.

I am pretty sure in PA that once your cat goes you dont have to replace it. Don't quote me on it but thats what i heard. Plus the PO dont really check these things up here.

I don't have the exact stats or sources, it's just commonly known that you can be fined up to $5000 for not having a catalyst on your car.

What's to elaborate on? If you don't have a cat, you can get fined. It's a pollution thing.

Basically, you need a cat in florida. The document is a lot longer than that and can be found here:

Yeah, its one of those things that you'll probably never get busted for, but if for some reason you do, you're kind of screwed.
