I have run the Phantom Grip LSD on my 5th gen Civic for about a year b4 I sold it. It worked very well for the first six months. Unfortunately after a while I noticed it just didnt work as well as time went on with hard driving. I think the springs wore out in it. Anyways I wanted to know if anyone had an LSD and what they think of it?

i heard that phantom wasn't that great. is phantom a tru LSD or it converts your differential into an LSD ?

it converts your differential to an LSD by way of two plates and 4 springs. The Phantam grip works very well for the average person. Just not for me. I drive a bit hard and eventually the springs wear out.

phantom is crap
its not even a real lsd...it just puts slight pressure on the spider gears...they wear out super fast too
general thoughts on them is theyre crap for the "real" driver...good for straight lines and absolute crap for cornering

IMO, just get a kaaz or a quaife

yup. Nuff said. I am a real driver so I am looking to upgrade. By the way is the Quaife a bolt in assembly? What I mean is there isnt any machine shop work to install it is there? just install the diff and reassemble the tranny and go right?

yeah its basically a bolt in type thing as long as you have no problem opening up the tranny, just take out old diff, take off the ring gear and bearing and put them on the quaife and then reinstall into the tranny. cant go wrong with quaife, lifetime warranty even when raced!

i looked over on the quaife site and they list only one differential for my car but they don't specify if that is for a manual or an automatic. does anyone know if they are the same or not ?

thanks. Sounds great to me. Thats my next setup. Planning on putting it on the H22 swap.
