did anyone else notice that people went from swapping in B16a to B18B to B18c1 and now the H22 into their 92-95 civics.

just curious to see what you guys think the next trend swap will be?

who has done one of these swaps?
what was the major pain in the ass about the swap?
which you prefer?

h22 isnt really popular...never was and I doubt it will ever be
maybe its just a current thing that people have right now (talk i mean)

B's will always be the most popular until 5 yrs from now...then K's will dominate (cause all the B's will be on their last legs ;( )

hmm. i thought about that to. i want to do a k swap myself. but funds for that are really low because it cost so much. people here are into the B20,H22 swaps. the b16 has completely died already. nobody here likes that motor. they all upgraded to B18s.

Ive concidered doing almost all of them except the R's
h22 lasted about a day
b16 lasted longer
b18 the longest
b20 just a few weeks...still kinda floating around too

I do so much talk of doing almost all of them its rediculous...but it really comes down to when I have $3k...i'll either build and boost the D or swap in a motor (then build it with the left-over funds, if any)

it's the acura 3.2 tl type s for the 02-03. makes about 240 hp with 212 ft-lbs of torque. sincerely i haven't seen that engine for sale anywhere, but it would be interesting to do in an accord.

i'd just boost the engine after the rebuild you were talking about and not worry about doing a mini-me swap

im just thinking about a zc 1.6, not sure of the engine code, because my friend just got one full swap for like 650, hes putting new cam, pistons, IM, and like just new everything basically.

i got my EX which had 45-50K on it for 450 bucks. no problems except leaky valve cover. 30 bucks for new. can go wrong!

huh? you lost me.

the D16 is the most popular engine for aftermarket companys. its got more parts for it then any other motor. mostly becuase some parts can be used for 2 gen. Example a header for a 92-95 can be put on a 96-99.

I wouldnt. Just my opinion. I went with the D16Z6 in my hb and I was left wanting more and missing torque. If u plan to turbo it then I think the VTEC head swap on your D16 would be worth it. Just remember that the mini-me swap yeilds more compression (so take that into consideration).

H22 not popular? Really? Dont tell me that! Ohh BTW the new K series engines rotate the wrong way. So that means putting it in the 6th gen Civics and lower isnt really a good idea. Its all about the rotational forces. The car just wont handle, and react right. Unfortunately spring rates and weight reduction cant do anything about that. Dont get me wrong it can be done, but I have heard it is not worth it, and for the money u can build up a serious B series or H series Civic.

hmm don't the k series have the tranny on the drivers side now ? that will make the engine spin the same way as the older d,f,h series compared to the chassis. i know the k24 accords have the tranny on the left side of the vehicle. all the cars that i have seen with clock wise engine rotation have the tranny on the left, and the ones with counterclock wise rotation have the tranny on the right.

i've seen a TL type s engine go into a accord once...saw pics too...that would be sick, 260 pones...whoa that woudl be fun...but i bet it's allot of modding to get it fit right

i like my b16 alright. not bad for a 17 year old working at gaydio shack. hope to boost it by the time i go to college, but if that dont work out, and im in college, its 100 shot wet kit for sure, id just have to hold on to some octance booster and use it VERY sparingly (only on race night).
