My problem is just that they have lost all meaning. Every holiday is a hallmark holiday anymore ('cept st patty's day where all we do is drink and hunt for leprechauns)
that and...
you spend all this money on people and they dont appreciate it.
people force themselves to spend time with people they dont get along with.
people in shopping places are rude, inconciderate, and without any patience to speak of

Eh, I like them overall. Yeah, the stores are crowded, but its not that big of a deal.

I want x-mas to be over with cause both my jobs are effected by it. I work 35 hrs at one and 25 at the other. Atleast I only have 1 week left of this.

I dunno...it's more of a time to reflect. F@ck presents and all that bullshit. I just enjoy some time to be with what little family I have left. Holidays suck now that my dad's gone....but you try and make the most of the times with the people that are left.

YES, I'm so glad I'm not the only one! I'm definitely with you on this one! As a kid I used to love the holidays..... being with family and friends, holiday music, baking cookies, holiday decorating and just that warm fuzzy feeling you get. As I've gotten older, that feeling has started to diminish and I now look at the holiday differently. Instead I look at mobs and mobs of traffic everywhere you go, shoppers who are impatient and rude and never getting to see and hang out with my friends because they're working crazy hours in retail. And don't even get me started on my job! For all I care, our customers can go shove a Christmas tree up their ass! Sorry, had to vent! I'm definitely ready for it all to be over!!

And I haven't had a guy to kiss on New Years Eve for the past 5 years now :paranoid: or gone to any parties that were even worth raving about, so that holiday has even lost its luster.

ehh... im not a big fan of the holidays. i try to get/keep a holiday cheer, but i just wana relax and enjoy break rather than jumping around all merry and singing making cookies and whatnot. i guess what killed it for me is the over enthusiastic people who make you look like the grinch cause you dont like christmas songs or decorating your place or buying presents for everyone you know

This is the worst time of the year for me. I never did like Thanksgiving. Then my dad died on Nov. 22. Then a week later my dog died. Whats more than that is I always feel left out at Christmas. Granted, I am Jewish, and we do get 8 nights of presents instead of one morning, but it is not anywhere near as most of my friends "Christmas Celebration Bonanzas." I would trade Hanukkah for a more imoprtant holiday where I get to see family that I haven't seen in a long time. There are only three holidays that I somewhat enjoy.
1. New Years (I have had to work on the last 5 of them.)
2. St. Pat's (That is just a fun day all together.)
3. Mardi Gras (Come on, who doesn't love Mardi Gras?)
Other than that I hate the holidays. Just my $0.02.

I think its cool. Christmas/New Year has always been a family thing for me.. Seeing how they get so happy around this time of the year makes me feel happy..

Not a huge fan of this holiday grouping. The only thing I like about Christmas is seeing the faces of my friends and family when they open their presents. Knowing they're happy makes me happy. Working in retail truely kills all holiday spirit for me though. Seeing our display Christmas trees go up the last week of September and "holiday" songs start playing like the first or second week of November...it just gets really old by the time Christmas day rolls around. Then with the people bitching about everything under the sun on top of all that crap doesn't make it any better. The people that do last minute shopping have lost all sight of what this holiday is supposed to be about and why we are even celebrating in the first place. There wouldn't even be a holiday if Jesus hadn't been born! And don't start me on the atheist and others that don't believe. That's a way sore subject for me.

New Years always suck...I've never had a guy to kiss when the clock struck 12....so I could give a rats ass about that.

My favorite holidays....St. Patrick's Day (what Irish person wouldn't say this) and the 4th of July.
