i'm pretty sure its not cut because it is too ragged....the car has been sittin' in the driveway for about 2 weeks now cuz i got a flat tire.. and i don't think i have a busted motormount...

this is really insane, i was shocked when i seen it cut and the sparks jumpin'...:shocking:

maybe its because those plugs were from autozone...i think they were called like "ultra spark" or somethin'...heed my advise...dont' ever get those!!!!!

If it wasn't cut, then just how do you propose it happened?

The only thing I could come up with is that there was some electrical problem in the cable that caused the line to break inside the shielding, then the arcing caused the shielding to melt and break. This I would expect to leave some kind of burning, though, and maybe be over a longer section of the cable.

No tellin who would cut the wires. Another question would be "How would someone get under the hood?"

I know with some Civics that's very easy to do from the bottom, not sure about any other cars.

Could be a prank, could be a lot of things.

A buddy of mine had his car break down on him and when his mechanic came to pick it up on the roadside the next morning.....every one of his windows was smashed out. No other damage done, his wheels weren't stolen, nor was anything else such as the factory stereo. Probably just some punk kids looking to be a**holes and ruin someone's day for their own amusement.

just an update: i brought back the wires to autozone and it turns out they have a lifetime warranty so i got a new set of those "Ultra Spark" wires free of charge!! oh yeah! although i don't feel comfortable to be using them anymore....it'll do until for now.

My vote is that it's cut. I've seen melted wires and wires where the insulation was so bad that the spark jumped straight through it but I've never seen that. The sheathing would be a little jagged because it's pretty hefty, especially if they used some fairly dull snippers. But the inner core wire looks to even for a straight split. If it had just stretched and busted (nearly impossible without a broken motor mount and having the wires attached to a stationary point), the inner core would've broken much more unevenly, like pulling a piece of string until it just breaks.
