so here is the thread to see who has the crappiest job. i don't remember ever seeing one on this before but i've been gone for like 3 months so if there was i'm a complete tool and feel free to ban me from talking for a week. newayz, i'll begin
i work at a beach resort(it all goes downhill from there). as the manager of the front desk i must listen to all the idiot guests who feel that they should receive a free night because their key would not work and they had to come all the way down to the lobby to get it remagnetized.
plus right now i'm sitting here at 7am after having spent the entire night since 11pm here on my booty since my normal guy quit and now i have to cover for his shifts plus get my stuff done.
all this for a little over $8.50/hr once you work out the fact that i work 60hrs/week.

Any job that you have to deal directly with customers is just plain crappy! They sure know how to make your life miserable. They'll b*tch and b*tch until they get their way. And if you don't kiss their butt then they always throw in your face that they will go to someone higher up than you and complain. Damn them!

I will pre-announce myself as winner...
I work in an UNHEATED (well my side is unheated at least) warehouse full of COMPLETELY picked apart RUINED junk cars... That I'm supposed to sell parts off of... even though they have close to NO good parts left on them...
Not just that but I'm supposed to do it with NO advertising budget...
Oh and I get paid 7.50 an hour... which is the least I've made an hour since I was 17 (I'm 26 and have 2 kids and a wife now).
I also have the pleasure of getting YELLED at by my boss who's disappointed with my sales... here are some excerpts from my day...
Boss: "So, you selling anything?"
Me: "no"
Boss: "Why not?"
Me: "We don't have anything people call for"
Boss: "How many calls do you get a week?"
Me: "0-40"
Boss: "40 calls a week... you should be selling stuff"
Me: "90% of the calls have been for either JUST a front bumper... or a front bumper with headlights... ALL of our cars that HAD either of those items were robbed of them for one of our cars in a matter of seconds."
Boss: "What about engines... are you advertising engines?"
Me: "Everytime I've asked about an engine someone has told me it's no good"
Boss: "You don't have to ask about engines... if they're in a wrecked car they obvioulsy drove it into an accident."
Me: "70-85% of the cars are front ended to the point of the heads being split if not the block or a mount... the rest that HAD good engines were robbed of them for our cars in a matter of minutes"
Boss: "What about the trailer on the side of the building .... that's FULL of engines... advertise those"
Me: "My first day dave told me EVERYTHING in that trailer was junk... and that it was the junk trailer"
Boss: "I'm gunna have to talk to dave"
THE END....
Dave told him the same thing he told me ... those engines were saved to be sent in when whatever company we ordered a replacement engine for wanted an core returned to them.
Still no advertising budget NO use of any of my ideas to market the parts...
It sucks... I gotta quit soon...
It sounded like a dream till the reality of it set in... I should've just listened to all the signs saying it was going to suck early on...

sorry that was really long...
My job sucks because...
My boss has high expectations with NO aknowledgement of reality.
It's dangerous (cars are stacked VERY POORLY on top of each other and I have to climb up into them to take parts out)
The cars are all picked apart.. and the only parts left are either MARKED "NG" (no good) or are ruined by whatever is sitting/leaking ontop of them.
The pay SUCKS.
The boss SUCKS.
It's far away.
I can't even use the lifts or the shop.
There's no advertising budget...
The only way I got the internet there was by installing an AOL disk I got at home...
AND the friggen paranoid bastard put a ****** key logger on my computer without telling me (checked my personal email from there the first day.)

i used to work as a cashier at the px by my house during my senior year in high school. i made about $7.25 so it wasn't too bad except for those few choice customers...
to elaborate: one morning before i was supposed to go to work i had a nosebleed that lasted for maybe half an hour, so i wasn't in the best of moods. (aside from not being a people person to begin with) i get a customer, ring up her items and do the whole cashier thing. she said "hi" to me, and i mumbled one back. apparently that wasn't good enough for her, so when i was done with her transaction she asked to speak to a manager.
i call for one, they were busy at the moment, so she started bitching to a supervisor, then my mom (a manager) listens in to her complain to the supervisor which went something like this:
"i've been in the navy for over 13 years, and i just spent almost $100, i tried to talk to her, but she wouldn't say anything, so i thought she was a mute, and my daughter smiled at her, but she didn't do anything, i guess it's time to get out of the service if this is how i'm going to be treated"
...needless to say i got chided for not smiling enough at customers :|
my solution: i taped a sign to my name tag that said "i'm smiling on the inside"
jeezuh mus h... that's great she's been in for almost 13 years, my dad's been in the army for over 20...
wow, she spent *almost* $100, i spent *almost* $300 on my ps2 back in the day
raarrgh. :biting: i hate customers and talking to people... so what do i do? i join the army to be a linguist... to talk. in other languages.
...sorry... that was long

to play devil's advocate......do you know how shitty it is to have a spinal cord injury and have to rely on viagra to help you get an erection that you cant even feel? and when you have a spinal cord imjury you cant geta worthwhile job so yes you rely on medicaid as your insurance and a measily 500 a month to pay all your bills. soooooo tell me why shouldnt medicaid pay for viagra? do all these young guys (20's) not deserve to have erections and teh ability to make love to their wives and gf's?
sorry i know this is a rant but i am tired of people acting like viagra is only for old guys who ran outta steam.

my favorite part, or maybe it's the weirdest part...anywayz...is when people call down wondering why their adult movies don't work. there is nothing worse than a 50 year old 300lb dude callin down at 10pm wanting to get his porn on. but at the same time i've had plenty of hot women call down too, ahh the fantasies of what goes on upstairs sometimes.
