I'm not a huge fan of tats like that. It's not a bad tat...it's just that I've seen a dozen more just like it. I'm a firm believer in tattoos that express something meaningful and original. That's why I can't stand it when someone gets some japanese characters or a rose or a butterfly or a cherry blossom as a tattoo. It's just not original.

It's actually a great idea if you have a creative streak in you. My tats include one of a copyright symbol (you know...the "C" with a circle around it) and the numbers "1981" seeing as how I was born in '81. One is for my dad that reads "Mi Patris...In Mortis Sis Tu Utor Pax" (My father...in death may you find peace). I've got a cobra on my arm that looks just like the cobra emblems they put on Mustang Cobras (probably the most generic one I've got). As long as it's something original that you care about, it's a good tat. Just stay away from shit you see on those dickweeds at MTV spring break (like the ones I mentioned before).

I think it looks nice. I wouldn't have put it there personally, probably on your arm or back but it's still a nice design. Any more in the future? Keep a light layer of Neosporin in it and a non-stick bandage over it when you have to wear a shirt. Just until it starts to peel then only use a good moisturizing lotion and you're good to go. If the tat sticks to your clothes and the scab comes off, then a new scab forms (obviously) but each time it does that, you lose more and more color, then you'll have to get a touch up. If you don't then it'll be spotty, not good.

I only frown on asian characters as being tat if the person it is on isn't even asian, in fact that just pisses me right off most times.

In a month I'm going to get my tatoo/s, one is most definatly gonna be my middle name (Tadashi) written in it's japanese characters then on my chest will most likely get some japanese proverb, I'd have to find one that relates to me or what I beleive in

stars are overused, but it is cool non the less

i might get one when im older, always wanted like a chinese style dragon or something. Not exactly something generic. Maybe I'll get a tattoo of myself on my back (Jackass the movie). how about no

What about tribals on people who aren't in a "tribe"?... that's just as contradictory

doesn't some dude in some band have the same tattoo as the poster...

I seem to remember some "tough looking" pop band like blink 182 (all tat'd up) that sang some song about butterflies had the same tatoo on his chest...

personally, the chinese character i got on my chest was for me and no one else. i am not gonna front and be walking around town with no shirt on saying "hey look at my tattoo(s)!!!" yeah this is my first tattoo and will probably get more. but its something that has meaning to me. there are some people who get tattoos to show off and whatnot but a majority of the people get them for themselves which is the only way to go. what it all comes down to is if the person getting the tattoo is happy. i researched for about a month on this small tattoo. was so glad when i finally found what i wanted. mine is more of a literary term and is not widely used. and that is what i wanted...something not normally seen

by the way, i am asian . but not chinese, i am filipino...actually i think filipinos are now called "pacific islanders" but i am not anal. so i say asian....

people getting tattoos, what are your next ideas for tattoo(s)? i absolutely love gorillas. at times they can be powerful and intimidating but i feel that they also have a compassionate and caring side to them. and thats kind of how i feel about myself. so i want to get a gorilla's head on the back of my right shoulder. i wish i was a really good artist. i have the picture of what i want in my head but i cant really describe it to any one for them to draw it for me. but hopefully i will have it what i want in a couple of months. i cant wait. my poor car probably wont be getting anymore mods after my friend puts in a subwoofer and amp. hahaha. sorry for the long read....
