just wondering if a K20a2 I-Vtec 2.0 220HP motor would fit in my 93 Civic?

yes
with custom mounts from hasport
custom header (because the one designed for the engine doesnt fit at all)
custom wiring (because no one is really sure just yet)

for the money its not worth it at all IMO

oh, and the k20a2 is only 200hp

damn, i'd have a dseries running low 12's/high 11's for that much.

thats the lowest ive seen...granted I dont look much but it was still like 6k+ last I saw
plus all the custom work it'd prob be like 8k easily for a motor that has roughly the same as the c5 or h22.

8grand...hmm
b18c1 bored to 1.98L, built to boost 20+psi
now go beat any dumb schmuck who swapped a K into an eg/ek

Good swap if you can do it. I have seen one person do the swap for your generation.
You would have to make your own mounts.
*HASPORT does not have a motor mount for a k20a2 into a 93 civic. The only kit they have is for a 7th gen coupe. During my swap, us and HASPORT worked together for 4 months to do the swap. I have the first set of motor mounts made by HASPORT for the swap, besides thier sponsored car. See what my car used to look like in customer rides at www.hasport.com <IM JUSTIN> ;)

Youwould also have to do major customizing because the way the engine sits. I was lucky cuz the whole subframe just bolted in. Not too mention not all parts would work so you would have to buy more parts to see which one would fit. ie. fans, power steering, hoses, etc. Then don't get me started on the computer.

Bottom line there would be a lot of work and it will take a while, like it did us, when no one else has the swap, and the one who does can't help ya.

But if you got the money and time definitley fun to be a pioneer in the import scene.

see i have been thinking and i either want to do a outragious never been done swap to a civic before or buy a 2.5RS.

i have always been a subaru man myself so i may sell the civic and get a 2.5RS. keep the civic for a dialy driven car and save up for a 2.5 RS or legacy.

Hey man, just build your d series  awesome idea!

It would be cool, but its really not worth puttin in that motor - unless you are rich . . . . .

It would be cool, but i dont think a civic front end is designed to handle the weight and design of that motor.

Well, what exactly are you trying to get out of your civc? If you want it to be an economical daily driver then there is no reason to mess with it like that. Granted, you could dump tons of money into it, but then it wouldnt be your daily driver now would it. . . . .

BTW, why not just keep the civic the way it is and go buy something else with REAL power potential?

k is lighter than b

^ never new that - thanks - (thought i red it was heavier :o ).

I guess its not a bad idea, but i think the money would be better spent on a different motor or on a new car.

until companies start making wiring coversion harnesses, shift linkages, variations of headers, etc (could all be sold as a package including mounts...perhaps I should email hasport ;) ), the swap just isnt practical

like teins...its bling bling where you could get away with koni which works just as well and is cheaper

not worth it at all....yes you could be one of the few people that have done such a swap but one that is gonna cost so much money that could be well spent on building up your D series or swap a B/H series motor.... you could give me a couple hudred dollars while your at it.. ;)

i was just looking for an idea. im not into H series motors. i may buy a B18b/c eventually. thats if i decide to keep the civic. i more then likely will, but i want a 2.5RS. plus if i keep the civic and get the 2.5RS. i will still build up the civic. no point in just having a civic.

if you want a good gain out of the civic just boost it

IF YOU Really want the 2.5 RS get! and use the civic for daily driver or down payment. But doing a B swap is fun too. I still want to go all out on a D-series motor though. Nothing like spanking a car with a big sticker on the side of you window saying SOHC!!!!!!!!;)

yea my uncle works for Subaru in colorado. so i may have him get me a deal. i want a WRX STi. but a 2.5RS is still my ideal car.

im going to keep the civic and use it for daily driven and for fun to screw around with.
