Have any of you ever been to Vegas? If so, did you like it, hate it, love it or what? Or have any of you lived in Vegas and if you moved, why? Just curious as to what people think about my town. Also, is there ANYONE on this board from Las Vegas? I have never seen anyone but would like to get something together out here. Let me know..

Been to Vegas. was there in July 02 for 4 or 5 days (they all sorta ran together). LOVED IT!!!!!!! I actually plan on moving there within the next year or so with my best friend. I hate colder climates and everything that goes along with them. So the desert is perfect for me!!!

There is Vegas, and there is Vegas. A lot of people think of Vegas as the strip with all the casinos, but there is also the rest of Vegas which is off the strip, and relatively suburban.

I'll be in Vegas multiple times next year for both business and a buddy's bachelor party (maybe we can get someone arrested?)

I've been there a few times, mostly for the CES show (businesss, yuk). My next trip will be in early March, by friend has a time share there.

I would be the best friend she's referring too. I went with her and two of our other friends on the same trip and I fell in love with Vegas! I figure Las Vegas is perfect for me....warm climate, almost always sunny, NO SNOW!, and almost always something to do. When people think of Vegas they most likely think "Party Town", but when you get away from the strip, it's just like any other town.

I despise PA...it's cold most of the year and when it is warm, it's always raining. The roads suck, it snows, the guys are f*ck heads for the most part....I just don't like it.

2 things are keeping me living in PA right now....my entire family lives here and I don't have enough money to move across the country right now. But one day.....

You ladies can come out here to Vegas. I will show you the town inside and out. As for lots of open roads, I dont know what your buddy is talking about bro. There isn't a lot of place to hold street races. Most of the "open roads" are locked down by the cops because of street racing. We have what is called "Midnight Mayhem" at the Las Vegas Speedway on Friday nights. It is awesome. They open up the drag strip and let you run. It has gotten big out here. We have people coming here from Cali and AZ all the time. It's pretty cool. There is a lot more to Vegas than the strip though. People only see that stuff on TV and think there is nothing. I love living here. I hate the cold climates too. That's why I was born and raised here and will probably stay.

But like I said, if you guys/gals ever want to come out here and hang out just let me know. For the two ladies that want to move out here, let me know if you need any help finding stuff out here.

Street Racing are ban in LAS?

Vegasguy80
12-03-2003, 12:45 AM
Well street racing isn't legal in any state on a public road. So it is "banned". That's not to say it doesn't happen. But like I said, the newest and safest thing in Vegas is the "Midnight Mayhem" that goes on at our local speedway. There are probably 500 a night there and we always have huge car shows during. But the cops here are pretty good and watching the streets that are popular on street racing and they are eager to whip out the ticket book or call the tow truck.:bandit:

Yeah, everyone has an opinion about Vegas. Some love the heat and mild winters, others hate it but continue to live here. I dont mind the heat, just more swimming for me. And the 24/7 atmosphere is awesome. Ive been to a couple of towns where you cant even grab a burger at like 9pm. I love it here. I dont have a problem with dirt and all that. Vegas isnt that bad. We are pretty expanded but a lot of people only have the point of view they see on TV so they are misled.

I have to agree with Vegasguy80. I graduated and still technically live in Vegas. I'm in the military so I move around a lot, but every chance I get, I head back and visit my friends and familly. Vegas is great!! You have to like the 24 hour lifestyle though. If your in it for the peace and quiet, well it's kinda hard to find, unless you live near the outskirts. Great thing is, LA and all of So. Cal is only 4 hours west and Phoenix is only 4 hour south. So plenty of things near by in case you need a break from your city. Which happens to everyone. Anyways, I love Vegas, and wouldn't give it up for anything!!! ;)

Denise and I are trying to plan a trip out there in Feb. to look at potential places to live. If we do go out, we'll have to let you know. I've been on about every travel site there is, Orbitz, Travelocity, Expedia, Cheaptickets and I can't find a really affordable price. We're both kind of tight with $$, so we're looking for a really good package price. We'll just have to keep looking. If anyone has any suggestions or other travel websites, please let me know.

Erin,

Can you take United Airlines to LAS?

DumbMoFo
12-09-2003, 01:56 PM
United's prices to Vegas aren't necessarily going to be better than anyone elses.

Southwest Airlines claims that the only place their fares are available is at southwest.com, and they probably aren't too bad.

Though I personally wouldn't fly them, some of the no frills airlines like America West, Southwest, JetBlue, and so on, might have decent prices. Also, consider flying to LA or Phoenix and driving the four hours or so to Vegas, if you are really concerned about the cost.
