this is basically a message i sent to dude. Maybe some other will find it helpful.

no problem. I personally spend 2950 shipped from Hmotorsonline.com, a reputable company. I got the differential (300$ more) and a full conversion. Heres all the little things to remember:

car will be out of comission for say up to two weeks.

its not as hard as people make it out to be i dont think

if you get the JDM motor:
use the wiring harness from your old motor, then pin the knock sensor, not hard
this is EASY, but make a little extension plate for the throttle cable bracket, easy as hell, but keep your stock throttle cable and just rig up the bracket. save time and money.

find a Chiltons manual it will tell you how to remove and install motors and is a generally good guide, but again, common sense needed from time to time

dont half-ass it.

buy the following: ball joint splitter, a long long long breaker bar (for axle nuts) and a 32mm socket (for axle nuts) HONDA MTL trannsmission fluid, and MOBIL 1 oil. Check and recheck these way before you start the car

your distributor cap will need to be replaced (use old one) and get new spark plugs. also, when you go to start it the first time, cances are it wont start. I spent two days looking and it was an underhood fuse labeled 'ecu' that was blown. Check check check fuses, grounds, and all that stuff if it wont start.

your radiator is smaller than a sotck b16'd cars radiator. Get a new radiator, OR do what i did and buy bigger hoses that fit the motor and clamp down HARD onto the rad.

you need your lower mounts no matter what anyone says. I know from experience.

and most importantly : LABEL EVERYTHING BEFORE YOU TAKE IT OFF YOU WILL FORGET WHAT IT GOES TO Dont argue with this one, jsut do it. And get little ziplock baggies for screws and LABEL

uhm, call me if you need something. PM me for number or hit me up on AIM at daklown33;) ;) ;)

You forgot to mention coolant....

You have to drain the coolant...

Also I'd recomend the helms manual... not the chiltons...

Also you mentioned getting a "differential" for 300 bucks more...

My question is.. do you mean an lsd... if so which one... and are you SURE they didn't just weld the spider gears or through in a phantom grip?

If not that's a sweet deal...

How good does the posi work?

If it takes you two weeks to swap, you aren't a very hands-on person. It should take 4 days tops running into several problems. Oh, and don't argue with that, I put mine in my car myself and it would've taken 2 days if it weren't for some minor probs.

You do not have to replace your distributor...don't know where you got that from.

Get a new radiator?? Tell me year of car and what motor and I will tell you what hoses you need.

Are you sure you've done this before? :paranoid:

I've seen type R engine's in civic's with the stock radiator. Guy had NEVER overheated it... he didn't auto-x or anything but he beat on it all over like the rest of us.
