Hey, just a few questions if someone could help me out.

1) Are GS-R's considered rare? Looking at cars.com theres a nice amount of teg's in my area and only 1 GS-R, heh.

2) Are there huge differences between the GS-R --> GS --> LS ?

Thanks,
Dan

GSR's aren't rare except for the 1992s I think they only made about 4,000 (I think). The diff. is; RS > LS > GS all have the same engines in their own years.(1986-89 ? no gsr's) (1990-91 130hp no gsr's) (1992-93 rs ls gs 140hp - gsr's 160 hp) (1994-2001 rs ls gs 142 hp gsr's 170hp) and (1997-2001 Type-R 195 hp). The gsr's also have better handling.

i wouldn't consider the gsr as a rare car. i think they are jusat not as many on the road as the ls/rs/gs. and if you can't find them for sale it doens't mean they are rare, it's just ppl that hang on to them ;)

Any honda with a DOHC VTEC engine will be very hard to find.

I will have to agree with thermal. I think Gs-r's are not rare but they are hard to find for sale. As far as the Civic SI i don't consider it a rare car and it does have the DOHC VTEC in them.

I dont think that gsr's are rare in some places but I do know that they are rare to find with the original motor around where i live b/c the majority of the gsr's are stolen and stripped for parts...u can get a hot gsr head around my block for about 400-500....so their pretty rare to see around the streets here unless the person parks it in a lot where it cant be stolen to easily...

Yeah here too. I think the reason the my teg was stolen is because they thought i had a gsr motor in it!

It's really weird. I have been looking for a GSR for my friend for a long time. Last week, I checked out www.autotrader.com and did my normal 100 mile radius search. All of sudden I get like 30 hits! I went to see a couple of them and was amazed to see that they were in great condition. Now my buddy is looking into getting a 99-00 Red GSR with 40k miles, unmodded.
