Ok i have lowered my car with Skunks 2 coilovers and i need shocks for my inspection in dec. My bro keeps on telling me that for the 2.5"-3.0" drop that i have on it to get koni's . Do you guys know any other shocks that will do the job which are much cheaper then the koni's? I was thinking about Tokiko but i have heard that they suck. Let me know what to go with.

konis are the only shocks made for cars lowered as much as that, the kyb adjustables might work, but your really pushing it with a 3" drop. they will blow fast probobly. spend the money now and get koni's. in th elong run you'll save more money

well just for starters kyb doesn't make the adjustables for his rear end. and i think that kyb;s suck. i had 2 of them blow on prokits

I had gr2's on my last car with prokit springs and they road sick for over 100k... they were great struts...

as far as other's I don't know tokico USED to be "the" shock to get... now everyone rips on them... I've never had them so I can say one way or the other.... We put some in a friend of a friend's 280z and they were fine... the went in with drop springs too... I didn't think they were shitty at all.

The other thing you can do is get a shock mount riser... they're made by a couple of companies I think... and there is a DIY on h-t... You basically cut off part of the shock mount (the end a strut bar mounts to) and weld in a 2" ring so the shock mounts higher and isn't as compressed.

here's the link to the thread...

here's a link to ground control's page on their travel extenders...

it says only for use with their springs though.

yeah, those are great ideas, but the problem is that non of us know to weld, so the best thing will be the konis.

wonder why nobody ever mentions Toxic. All the mini truckers use them. And bodydropped mini's will amke your car look like a 4x4
