It sounded cool till I saw it...

they should have gotten to it quicker... that's what I don't like about live-fed animals...

The rats ALWAYS end up getting tortured to some degree... just kind of pointless.

The only people who get pets that eat living things are either sadistic and like to see things suffer... or want to sound cool by saying they have pirhana or whatever...

Buying any animal that requires you have an active part in torturing and killing little animals on a regular basis is not for me...

God I sound like a hippy.

Once they got going it was pretty quick though...

how is it torture? Its nature
if that rat had fallen into a river w/ no logs/rocks/close shore to escape the outcome would have been similar
Its better for animals such as these (predetors) to eat live food...keeps their spirits up and more active ( =healthy ).

Survival of the fittest (no that was not darwin who said that)

Im totally behind you on that one - not that i didnt watch it, but it was gross - to see living things suffer is not for me. That was interesting to see the pirannas eat it, but it was gross to think somebody went and bought a rat just to see it die - life is more valuable than that, its not entertainment.

That was awful! I'm not sure why I even started watching it....guess curiosity got the best of me. I couldn't even watch the whole thing. I stopped before it got gruesome....made me sad. I hate to see animals get hurt. I understand what your saying Pat about nature and survival, but it's still sad. I'm the kind of person who gets more upset seeing an animal die in a movie than a person. I know, I'm strange. :paranoid:

Yeah I don't feel too much sympathy for humans. But it is nature. And they (they being the fish) have to eat. Look at humans. We are a disgusting race. We kill and eat everything.
So it doesn't surprise me to see that.
Boy I've got mixed feelings on this one.
