I saw this Gen5 Civic today, it had a shaved trunk and door handels it was sexy. I was wondering how you'd go about shaving door handels? And since there would be no hand access to get into the car, you'd get in thru an alarm pushing the door open or...?

they but sheets of metal over the handle's holes and gaps
its pretty pointless and troublesome for a daily driven car

and you use actuators to pop the doors open for you once the handles are gone

Pointless maybe. But it looks sexy, real sexy and about how much does this cost?

phuuuu screw metal... if you do that then you have to get somebody to weld them on.. sand the welds down.. and body fill the reast of the mess... just take a hammer and beat the crap out of the handles until that come off.. go get some fiberglass or bondo and slap that junk in there...

AWESOEM then it can fall apart and look shitty like my friends accord.

dude im a minitrucker at heart. Use metal. If possible, use NO body filler at all. I say sahve just the handles. Teh tails are fine, but you COULD shave the trim around the plate and get a frenched box.

It uses remote solenoid actuators and a door popper. My buddy has it on his Celica. To top it off, the celica has lambo style opening door.... Pretty cool stuff for a show piece.

shaving is for your face not for door handles. jmho. don't do it unles it's a show car, a daily driver would just be a pain in the arse.

i know this guy shawn with a daily 97 coupe and he took the door handles off the BACK doors of a 4 door, and put them on his two doors so he wouldnt have keyholes. but this guy has the nicest civic i have ever seen in my life.

The no key hole sounds good to me too. That way thieves could not pick the lock. I use an alarm with keyless entry, so that would be nice. It would suck to get stuck with a dead battery.

Just about NO thief would pick the lock... most case cars before trying anything so the door handle thing doesn't really do much..

if you do it so you remove the rods inside the door it makes it harder to slim jim... but again... thieves will generally just break a window anyway...

Shaving is kinda silly imo... but it's just an opinion... if you like it get it done right with metal by a shop that does it a LOT and that you can inspect the work done to someone elses car first...

Don't do it ghetto or you will DESTROY the resale value of your car and it will look like a pos in a matter of months at most a year.
