I have been selling/buying stuff on Ebay for the longest...so I know how things work...Now, I just recently sold a Compaq Presario 1200 Laptop (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3436334728&category=3712&rd=1)

The winning bidder sent the money minutes after the auction ended..I had opt to pay for the shipping as a courtesty for the winner...I sent it FedEx overnight with insurance.

So I recieve an email from the guy minutes after he recieved the item....I tracked via FedEx and then checked the time/date of the email...He stated that "Everything is Loose" whateverdafukthatmeans! He then stated that he did not want the laptop and that he wanted his money back ASAP...

I replied, stating that if everything is loose, maybe something happened during shipping...I assured him that I tested the laptop before I packed it and shipped it out to him and that everthing was intact and operational...

I then recieved a reply stating that the laptop does not turn on at all...Then he stated that FedEx customer service told him the shipping party is the one that needs to file a claim with FedEx...which is a total lie...and that he knows a lot about computers because he has a Sony Vio...

I told him that he needed to contact FedEx, and that his dishonest statement about the shipping party needing to fill out the claim makes me doupt the whole inoperable laptop theory...

Was this the right thing to do? I mean I have already spent the money he paid me...and the laptop was legit...I really think he was just regreting the purchase more than anything...

Advice Please!!!

just leave him feedback. and the shipper or a third party needs to claim with fedex. i know that happened with one of my intakes on ebay (shipped the intake directly from a warehouse)

he bought it...thats final really...ebay rules basically state that and its up to the seller to take something back.

forget it, just leave feedback. if he leaves bad feedback with you respond to it so people know why youre getting it (because he's a fool/ass)

i agree with shot 2 hel, there isnt anything he can do. First of all, the guy knew that he was taking a risk when he went shopping on ebay. Even though it was legit, there are always gonna be scams. so he took that risk, he obviously didnt read the ebay agreement when he signed up, all sales are final. leave the asshole negative feedback. its not ur fault. :-\

Dude if he gave u the money there is nothing he can do about. Especially if he knew wtf is going on with e-bay. yes if u insured it should have something to do with fed ex and not u so tell him to lay back and call fed ex.

If you know that you're being totally legit about this deal, there's still not much you can do to stop him from slamming you on feedback. Just think of a really good response to it. He needs to file the claim if he wants to.
