well guys. if you ever have a car that burns oil, never decide that putting oil in it every 2-3 weeks will do. i thought i wouldnt need to put oil in my car for another couple of days. i ran it to long without (not know it didnt have any) and blew the headgasket and cracked the head. so if you burn oil check every week on how much you got. it blew on the day i went to go get oil to put it in too (2 days ago).
so now i need to get a new engine. i want VTEC doul overhead cam DOHC. so, im thinking with the funds i got. which are below 1100$. i will put a 1992-1995 EX or Si engine in it. they are cheap and easy to find. plus, i wouldnt have to swap tannys or axles ect ect. i can use stock parts. so it shouldnt cost me lots to get. its the labor to put it in. i would do it myself but with woking 40 + hours part time on top of school i dont got the time.
if you got a EX or Si engine 92-95 for sale let me know. i live in the midwest.

BEn, please spell check before you post!
and a 92-95 EX engine is not a DOHC, nor is DOHC stand for doul overhead cam, nor is there a reason to say DUAL overhead cam DOHC
92-95 EX is a SOHC engine

the car may be dead, but think of it as an opportunity...you can swap in a new motor... but i say stick with the dirt cheap D series... rebuild it and bolt on a greddy turbo kit and swappin' in a D series motor is cheaper than puttin' a B series in there..

it wont be hard to install it yourself...its the same engine so just pull the dead one and replace it with the one you found

i would love to do it myself. i could do it myself and everything. but i get one possibly 2 days a week off. and i got school mon-fri. i work on the weekends eight hours both days. i have no time plus im the laziest sob you could ever meet. so i think ill have someone whom i can trust to do it. plus they know exactly what their doing. i would probably forget to connect something to something and what not so...
i got money why not pay for it.

Well I found it in a local salvage yard here, by were I live.
It started and it wasn't leaking anything, no odd noises or anything. Only down side is it has 76K miles on it. But I still decided to purchase it for 349.99$. Only cheap because I know everyone there.

actually, around here, I can get a SOHC VTEC engine for a $130. Tranny will not be included and you have to pull the engine out yourself..... Anyway, you really should swap it yourself. It will bolt straight on. You will not need to rewire, just unclip all the wiring clips. Just make sure to pay attention on how you're pulling out the old one. The new one will come easy....... Also, keep the VTEC head and EX manifold. You can sell those on ebay for those mini-me conversion and turbo projects on CRX's and Non-VTEC plants.
