Can it work ? Might be stupid question, but it IS a d series and its same displacement.

no it won't work. the head bolt pattern is off, you could correct this but the money/time/effort it would take would far outway any benefit of a DOHC motor. not to mention you'd have to swap in the pistons from the ZC as well since the head chamber volume of the zc is alot more compared to a d16z6 and keeping the stock Z6 pistons in would yield a big drop in compression, giving a loss in power.
so in short, no.
are you trying to make cheap N/A power?

depends lol. Im a poor kid whos stuck with a d16 and 200k + miles on it. And no opportunity for boost.

if you wanna good increase in power for cheap do this:
pull the motor, have it overbored .25mm(giving you 75.5mm bore and upping your total displacement from 1590cc to 1611cc's) then get the ZC pistons that are 75.5mm(upping your compression from 9.2:1 to 12.1:1) put those in along with new bearings/pistons rings.
then upgrade you valvetrain and put in a aftermarket cam/cam gear and raise you rev limit to whatever the cam likes.
you'll be smoking b16 civics in no time.

buyt wont i lose reliability ? and couldnt I buy a turbo for that much ? like fit one off an eclipse with an HF mani

you wouldnt lose reliability, if anything it'll increase reliability since most of the engine will be new again. you'll just have to run premium gas.
if you did most the work yourself it'd about 1k$(you could save about $150 if you bought used pistons) to do, or if you paid someone that'd be an extra 400-500$.
yeah you could do a cheap turbo kit for this, I thought you were saying that you didnt want to run boost, but i guess you meant you couldnt afford it.

you want to to slap a turbo on a stock d16 with 200k+ miles? that'll last about a week...
go with the rebuild idea, or just buy yourself a ZC and buy new parts whenever your next paycheck comes up..thats my plan, get parts whenever you can.

Definately get the rebuild - even if it is to stock specs - then slap a turbo on!

mmkay. so say i was going the turbo route...round about 10 psi cause i want 200hp reallll bad. What parts do i need for the motor itself ? such as
Sleeves
Low comp pistons.
what else ? rods are way expensive x 2

get Eagle rods for like $370 and some SRP 9.0-9.5:1 pistons for like $390 and new bearings/pistons rings.
