Im debating about getting a civic or a del sol. What i need to know is how much does a 93' del sol Si weigh compaired to a 95' civic ex. I plan to drop a like a B18C1 or a B16A in it, depends on how much money i can come up with.
Thanks
Steve.

so you are basing your decision on the weight of a car?
OK!
del sol si is about 2400lbs
95 civic ex is about 2400lbs

Did i say i want an estimate on weight? Didnt think so.
And yes, weight is a factor in what car i will get. Not the sole factor in what i will get.

Wow it's funny how people concentrate on weight... build a 700hp motor, and it doesn't matter what your car weighs...don't ever get a car based on weight.. get it based on style if anything.

sorry, i dont have the cash to build a 700+ hp motor...
I have like 6000 bucks i can get my hands on. I can get a 95 civic for 1800 rip out the motor and put a b18c1 in it. Then thats about it.
And when i cant build my motor 700+ hp weight does matter.
So weight is a factor. If a 200 hp motor with a 2000 lb car runs 14, it would take a 600 hp motor to pull a 4000 to 14 seconds. Its simple mathmatics...3:1 ratio at sea level. But most of us dont live at sea level, we live above it, so that means te engine just has to work harder to pull that car to 14 seconds.

Wow is this wrong... a 600hp motor pulls a 4000lb car to a 14 in the 1/4? No.. My car weighs about 3280 empty, let's say something over 3500 with gas and me.. I have 550hp give or take, and run just a bit faster in the 1/4 than 14. Why not build the motor to be bullet proof... then get a SUPERCHARGER at procharger? Procharger.com. They are claiming 100% hp increase at about 14psi on your civics. The kit is MUCH cheaper than a turbo. You could be easily looking at 300hp. Screw the weight, build the motor.

My expression about the 14 second car was just an example, showing you weight does matter. It matters alot.
I know that if you had 600 ponies pulling a 2 ton car it would be alot lower than a 14.
Also thanks on the supercharger idea. I was thinking more of a turbo but ill give it some thought. Thanks
