I'm sorry Wren.

Maybe the college have a lot of lamer peoples.

My car on the back trunk have a lot of scratched from the scarp bush tree. Also the door handle.

That suck man. You should get the cheap car than 350Z or u can leave your car in your storage.

No offense... but consider yourself lucky it didn't get
A. hit harder/worse
B. keyed
C. stolen

that thing is a magnet... NOONE will have ANY respect for a car like that...

I'm really not trying to start a fight but you MUST realize that most people have NO respect for cars in general... then they see a nice car that you OBVIOUSLY couldn't afford yourself... I don't think someone driving their pile of crap 1000 dollar car is going to stop and leave a note on your 30k car so you can get the bumper freshened up back to stock... it's kinda obvious you have "disposable income"...

Not saying it's right but that's the way it is...

My civic got hit in a lot the other week... it sucks and all but I'm not gunna cry about it... That's half the reason I wouldn't ever drive a "nice" car... it's just silly ... NO car stays nice... unless you are REALLY rich... and don't drive ANYWHERE in it.

My neighbor has a 69 firebird 400 and he doesn't take it ANYWHERE... he takes it for drives and doesn't EVER park it... If you want to keep you car nice I suggest you hurry up with that crx idea...

Consider yourself lucky that it's not a dent of something harder to fix... that could be fixed and blended for around 100 bucks.

Actually.. wrong.. I have had my 57 chevy for years.. no problems whatsoever.. I think people actually respect it enough not to mess around with it. Same with out TT. Not a scratch. I don't park either cars near other cars. Usually on the opposite end of the parking lot where nobody else except people with nice cars like to park. Why have a nice car and never drive it? lol That's what a car is for. You don't buy a new car like a TT or 350z and have another car like they are show cars. Drive the shit out of them and have fun with them.

Usually thieves like to steal the cars/parts off the cars that are way off on the opposite end of parking lots since there's no one over there.

I dont think respect has anything to do with it, most people dont have much money and if they can get away with not paying for something they will. And I seriously doubt some thief will see a car and say to his selfish ass self "I know that car is worth alot, but I respect it so I'm not going to mess with it" sure....

I agree. Drive what you got to drive. Take some pride in what you have. Your car can get smashed pulling out of the driveway, not to mention in a parking lot. I feel bad for the 350Z owner, but look on the bright side, you still have your tailights intact. My friend has a 350Z convertible, and someone busted his DRiver's side tailight....BIG BUCKS!!! $$$You thought JDM 92-95 Prelude HL were expensive...

Well we are not talking about thieves.. if a guy parks his 911 Porsche next to my 57, he's probably going to be more careful than I am pulling in and out of the parking spot. I tend to park next to nicer cars too. Don't park next to trucks/vans/ or pieces of shit. As for stealing parts off my car... very little chance.. most parts are stolen off imports and newer cars. While my car can be stolen they better bring a flatbed truck to move it.. otherwise it's not going anywhere.

if you can afford tha car you can afford to have it fixed....i have 4 dents in 1 door and 2 in the other plus someone smashed the flat spot on the right fender and it's impossible to have it fixed and look right.....so i have to buy a new fender and will prolly have to reskin the doors.........granted my car didnt cost $30k but it's still a mother humper no matter what your car cost..........

is your insurance gonna cover it or are you gonna have to pay out of pocket?

damn wtf is with all the drama around here? why is everyone up in arms about my car? I know I can afford to have it fixed, but it still sucks. All I posted was that someone hit my car and I was pissed, I didnt say anything like "my 30k car costs more to fix than your POS, so I am having a pity party and putting pictures so you can drool and wish you had my car, even with the scratches." I don't think that way, sorry you took it that way. My point was that I am pissed that my car got hit, and wanted to tell someone so I didn't explode, so I came here. This is damn insane, if I were driving a POS I'd be just as pissed based on principle.

My insurance is 1k deductible (much cheaper that way), so I will be paying out of pocket... fun stuff...

it's not that people can't afford to pay for the damages when they hit your car...

they just DON'T WANT TO.

Dude that totally sucks....I swear colleges are the worst places to have cars. My doors have dings in them all over the place from commuting to school. Just be glad that it isn't worse  that's what I always tell myself.

You're lucky...

I know LOTS of people with nice cars... and the only one's that stay nice are babied... IE... NO errands in it... no parking in crowded lots... NO highway driving and if so be sure to leave a LOT of distance between you and the car in front of you...

IE NOT A DAILY DRIVER.

I don't think someone was "messing around" with his car... I think they mis-judged their distance and scraped his bumper... then looked around to be sure noone saw then said F it I'm leaving.

I never said nor would I say don't drive your nice car... but if you drive a brand new 350z and want it to stay nice then I'd say get a beater to drive around campus... that's all... and if you think that's wrong then you have either never been to a college or your just dis-agreeing for fun.

My sentra got beat to death in boston not even on campus... driving your car everyday and parking it on the street or a lot leaves it VERY exposed to LOTS of damage...

drunks driving around... drunks walking around... theives... pranksters... jealous people... weather... sober shitty drivers... etc etc etc...

parking a car daily in a college area or any semi-metropolitan area just about guarantee's dings scratches and dents. you either need to accept it or get a car you can accept it on.

Yea.. actually I have finished college ... a few years ago. I drove my car everyday.. never got a scratch, dent, ding, etc. Not one problem. Big parking lots.. I chose the empty one. If you are driving a 1964 Ferrari then yes get a beater.. but if you have a 350z, that's an everyday car. Have fun with it..

I see what your saying but I really think that you've just been lucky...

I've known LOTS of people who's cars got messed up when they're the daily driver...

Oh and I wasn't implying you hadn't been to college... I was just saying in my experience daily drivers get trashed... especially around colleges or cities...

My civic has been hit w/o anyone leaving a note over 6 times... and it's ALWAYS washed and waxed... so it's not like people can't tell I care for my car... people just generally aren't very forthright... or honest...

If I had ANY car that I wanted to keep pristine I would drive it only on nice days and garage it otherwise... (and 64 ferrari or not a 30k car that is BRAND NEW is something I'd want to hold it's value for as long as possible and stay as fresh and new as possible..)...

My dad had a 95 porsche and when he started driving it to and from work everyday (spring/summer/fall) instead of only on nice days it went to hell in a handbasket real quick.. nick dents chips etc...

If you've gotten away doing otherwise you are lucky... I wouldn't advise anyone who wants to keep their car mint to do the same....

I'm guessing the reason you said maybe a 64 ferrari is because you see it as irreplacable... but a 30k sports car for a college student is pretty irreplacable too... especially with a 1000 dollar deductable....

Highlander... what would you do if it was a 1500 dollar hit to a door? or even just a nice scrape up a couple of panels... insurance won't pay and you'll be in the middle of school and I assume not working... that would RUIN you're car...

I'd get a daily driver (especially if it's affordable)... but like I said that's my opinion.

Correct.. it is not replaceable.. but a 350z is.. drive it while its worth something.. and people think it's cool.. 15 years down the road it won't be as cool when you finally pull it out of the garage with 2000 miles on it and say "I wish I drove it when it was new and cool"
