Hey guys i was thinkin about taking off the cat on my ex accord. Or getting a header and taking the cat off. But I will be leaving the stock muffler. If I put a header on the car and no cat would it be loud or even noticeably poppy or buzzy sounding like a new muffler would be??? What about just no cat and keep the factoyr header?? Im lookin to just gain a little bit and for it to run better but no buzzy 4 cylinder sound.. A I looking in the right direction?? Are those cheap ebay headers any good you think? Will it affect my cars A/F ratio at all on these little 4 cylinders? I dont want it to run rich or lean obviously, just to run better.. So Should I do this or not?? Is it worth it?

I have a DC header and still have the stock exhaust. It didn't get much louder at all (I also have an AEM CAI), and I didn't really notice a gain. If you have an EX, the stock header is pretty good anyway. I'd get a full cat-back exhaust if you want more performance and a better sound. They aren't all buzzy.

Nah, I still have my cat. With restrictive stock exhaust piping, there isn't much reason to remove it. The gains are minimal even after you have an aftermarket exhaust. Have you considered just buying an exhaust?
