If you had all the money in the world, and you had a choice of getting a true sports car (Porsche, Viper etc) but you can't do anything to it. Or buy a regular car (under 30 grand) and put loads of money under the hood and make it crazy fast. What would you do?

Buy the most expensive/exotic sports car in the world.

I would NEVER buy a car and leave it stock... that's just silly imo.

at the very least wheels & springs/struts.

Ahhh, that's a good one Anna! I'd go with an expensive sports car. I'd want a car that I wouldn't have to do anything to and speaks for itself.

True sports car. Nothing else like it. Now, if you had said an older car, I would want a 69 Camaro convertable, built with a blown motor and gear drive for starters.

Crazy sports car. There's more to a car than just power - a nice sports car will be lighter weight, better susp, stronger chassis, nicer interior appointments, stronger drivetrain, probably some nice drivebywire features, traction control, better brakes,...

If I had all the money in the world, I'd spend it on something worth while. I'd end world hunger and try to bring about world peace. I'd give back to the community for it has given me. (j/k)

I'd probably buy a regular car and modify it until it wasn't a car anymore, maybe into an airplane or something.

I'd probably buy a Subaru WRX WRC car. I like the idea of a sequential gear box and paddle shifters on the steering wheel.

I'd get myself a nice expensive car.
I'm not sure what yet, because, well, I don't have that kind of money so why waste all my time doing all that research. When I do get it, I'll spend the time.

If you buy an expensive car, it'll already have all that and a bag of chips done to it!

"If you were rich..."

How do you know I'm not already??

Anyway, give me a big limo and a driver for starters. Of course, I'd need a fun car to drive on my own (roadster of some sort, but havent't given it much thought).

Or a helicopter. F traffic.

That is just a stupid question. The fastest production car will never be as fast as a $30,000 with $500,000 in it. I would get a 97 3000GT and put all the money in the world into it and make it faster than anything out there;)

My first answer was going to be a hot ass sports car. i agree with Erin in the fact that I want a car that will speak for itself. I want a car that will turn heads and i don't have to do anything to it other than keep it washed and waxed and general maintaince.
But then as I read through everybody's responses, i got to thinkin....if I would just get a "normal" car and do the couple of mods that I like (I'm not very extravagant when it comes to mods I like)...I'd have a ton of money left over to do other things...like retire and drive my car around. So...I don't know what I'd do....I've always wanted a sports car :luck:

After much consideration, I think this is what I will do. I will hire an entire company to design one car for me, it must be completely new, the motor, the body, everything. Once the plans are finished and worked to my satisfaction, one vehicle will be produced, it will be the first and last car of this type. I will pay the developers handsomely to never make another car like it again. All the plans will be kept by me, and if the car should break down over the course of time, all the needed parts will be fabricated on demand. ::cool:

Not even close... if you think an M3 is as fast or as good as it could be you're wrong...

Not just that but I wouldn't ever drive a car on it's stock wheels unless it was a bmw 5 series with the dished bbs'. and still I'd do at least an intake and exhaust... probobly a chip.... No actually I'd just keep going and going like I do on anything... EVERYTHING can be improved upon...

lots of companies build one off cars... however to have a block designed for you would be about as dumb as you could get... blocks are not exactly something you can just draw up and make... it takes LOTS of R&D to come up with a good block design.
And as far as having them "fabricating on demand"... I'd bet money bill gates couldn't afford to do that.

I'd much rather dump so much money into whatever car that noone would ever do anything remotely similar... I like the process more than the product though... so maybe that's just me.

I believe if you read the original post correctly. It said "If you had all the money in the world." So it really doesn't matter how much is spent.

PS. "all the money in the world" is more money than Bill Gates has. ;)

I believe if you knew anything about cars you'd know that you'd be nothing but disappointed with an original design block....;)

swaps are fun and all but not every 20ft.

^you officially are missing the point

obviously there are people that know how to build engine blocks, otherwise there would be none. obviously at some point in time they had to be invented, thought up, created, tested, and deemed worthy. you make it sound like an impossible task to design an engine block:rolleyes: . with money, anything can be done. is it possible to get to the moon? yes. was it 40 years ago? no. it is possible to design/develop a fresh engine block, especially with all the money in the world paying engineers that know exactly what they are doing. don't be so arrogant and condescending, it really isn't warranted when you are as ignorant as you are...
