would a 98 dodge neon 2.0 R/T manual, superchaged with a 50 shot of nitrous be faster than a 91 civic dx B16A swap with I/H/E and some other small misc shit in a 1/4 mile?

yea I figured. so much for wishful thinking.

see there's a story behind the question. My cousin gets babied by my gramps. So he buys him a neon then a SC and then a nitrous kit for his ride. I wouldn't ask for anything because I do ok on my own (slowly progressing) but it just pisses me off he gets all this stuff plus motor work and now he's faster and didn't even work for it. o well when I get my internals built, nitrous and everything I should smoke it right?

maybe, i'm not sure unless you write out exactly what the neon has and exactly what you're gonna have.

Even if he writes it all out there is no garuntee by paper. Driving skill has alot to do with it. But i guess your right it could give you a pretty good idea.

1/4 mile he would probably win. If you guys would race from a rolling start, you could win.

Acutally, you might even have a chance on the 1/4 mile.. I spent a weekend fooling around in an 89 SI with a b16a, and man that thing moved. Off the line it isnt that hot, but I was dumping at around 4.5K.. And it did ok.

I noticed you have a strong clutch, so if you launch hard enough, you really might win.

I don't know a ton about these motors, but I don't think the civic would have a chance in hell... depending on what hp the neon started with, a s/c adds typically 35-45% plus add a 50 shot of hp from the nitrous. What does that come to? What do neons have to start with?

neons are rated for 150hp stock. If it was a stock race i'd blow him out of the water :).. I think if he doesn't spary i'd have a damn good chance.

Well depending on the type of s/c on the neon, he could have anywhere between 200-225hp before using nitrous. What is the factory rated hp on your motor stock? What is it with your modifications?

there is no way a stock b16in any honda is going to beat a s/c neon. he wont even have to use the nitrous.

That's what I thought.. didn't wanna come out and say it.. not sure what the hp rating on that motor is, but pretty sure it isn't 150..

o we will race i'm sure... probably late this summer possibly next summer.

by the time this summer ends i'll have my jdm conversion, all my fuel setup, port/polished head, possibly some internal motor work, lightened flywheel and some nice light rims. so I imagin i'll win.
