i just bought gauges for my accord and my bro was just wondering if u have to take off the needles in order to put the gauges on. he said that on some cars u have to take off the needles to put the guages on . i hope i dont need to do that, but if anyone has info it will help a lot. thanx

It depends on the gauges you got. If it is several different "wafers" (one for speedo, one for tach, etc.) then no, you do not have to take off the needles. Rather, just carefully slip the needle through hole and you should be good to go.
Now, if the gauges are just one giant sheet, you will have to take off the needles (if that's even possible on Honda's), lay the sheet over, and reattach the needles. I don't see where you'll have to do this.

Most reverse guages you do not have to remove your guages. But as Ducky stated, it all depends on the guages. I would take them to a local shop and have them installed professionally because you don't want to mess anything up in there. Most shops here in Vegas will do them for $60

I kinda fugged up my reverse gauges when I did them. First, the wiring had it so that the gauges would have been on 24/7. So, I went back and re-wired it into the back of the gauge cluster so that they would only come on when my headlights or parking lights were on. Then I had a problem with the needles getting stuck because the paper/wafers didn't want to lay flat on the gauge face. So, I had to jerry-rig something for that. But ever since, whenever I turn the lights on, I have to hold the button until I get my desired color combination. If I turn the lights off, and then back on, I have to hold the button again. I figured they were just supposed to be like that, but my friend got his professionally installed and he doesn't have to go through that hassle. Any ideas?

I installed my gauges myself thanks to the fine gentlemans on hstuners.com. At First I was frustated because my needle kept gettin stuck on the reverse gauges so I had to take it all out and fixed it up like 2-3 times but it finally stayed down.

If you have an accord..I dont think your suppose to take the needles out..I think your screwed if you do..someone correct me if im wrong. Just take your time.

60 bucks for a shop to do it???!! If you want it to get it professionally done then I guess its kinda worth it.

Don't take your needles out, and don't move them! If they do move, make sure to put them back to where they were before you hook them up again. Just slide the gauges over the needles.
